Breaking News: Former El Paso Border Patrol Agents Free From Prison (both free)
KFOX-TV ^ | 2-17-09

Posted on 02/17/2009 8:32:21 AM PST by STARWISE

At 3 a.m. mountain time, former Border Patrol agent Jose Compean was released from the Elkton Federal Prison in Elkton, Ohio. Former agent Ignacio Ramos was released about five hours later from the Phoenix Federal Prison in Phoenix, Ariz.

Ramos and Compean will officially be released from Federal Bureau of Prison custody on March 20th, but on Tuesday both were allowed to rejoin their families. They had been in prison since January 2007.

Ramos and Compean were in prison for shooting drug smuggler Osvaldo Aldrete Davila and then trying to cover it up.

On President Bush’s last day in office, Jan. 19, 2009, he commuted the sentences of the two former Border Patrol agents.

KFOX has a crew in Phoenix covering the reunion and we will have much more on KFOX News at Six, KFOX News at Nine, and kfoxtv.com.

I believe they requested no pardon, as they want to clear their names.

Same as Scooter.

They should have received full pardons a long time ago. But then, one can’t expect a puss like Bush to become John Wayne overnight. Excellent news which will, of course, be pretty much ignored by a thoroughly disapproving MSM.

Glad to hear this news.

This travesty of justice should be a stain on the Bush legacy for ever.

Maybe Obama will do the favor for Scooter.

Karl Rove said this morning on Fox News that Scooter Libby had his sentence commuted by Pres. Bush. He is not in prison.

Magnificent. IMHO, failure by GWB to rectify this travesty would have put him on very nearly the same level as Pontius Pilate. I hope these two make a movie and make big $$$!

I’m happy that Bush swallowed his pride...

Swallowed his pride?! SWALLOWED HIS PRIDE! That just tears it. I am so damned sick of so-called "real" conservatives ripping into that man, that if I could reach through my computer to choke some sense into you, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Sheesh, but you just don't know what the hell you're talking about.

President Bush did what he thought was right every minute of every day of his presidency. Like all humans, he certainly made mistakes, but he ALWAYS acted in what he believe to be the best interests of this nation.

There is a vast difference between doing what you think is right even if you fail, and deliberately doing something seriously harmful to others. The current occupant of the White House will never act in the best interest of this nation. Someday maybe idiots like you will finally learn the difference.

I pray you are correct.. however, I fear you are wrong.

Let history tell the tale, not the media or those who may be swayed by their own sense of loyalty.

That being said, there are forces afoot that seek to destroy this nation as a sovereign vessel for freedom and for their own purposes.

Those forces continue to work within both parties and across administrations to fulfill their agenda.

No, by offering a failed administration, GWB propelled overt socialism into the White House. All the simpleton Americans know to do is vote out the White House party when they are dissatisfied.

This country should never stand for false imprisonment and the tyranny of those that do it.

Yes, swallowed his pride. He clearly didn’t want to pardon them, otherwise, he wouldn’t have waited until the last day.

He’s lucky to have your unconditional love and devotion in spite of destroying the Republican party.

His legacy will forever be setting the table for, then delivering Obama. Enjoy, Bushbot.
