Librarians are being told to move the Bible to the top shelf to avoid giving offence to followers of Islam.
Muslims have complained of finding the Koran on lower shelves, saying it should be put above commonplace things.
So officials have responded with guidance, backed by ministers, that all holy books should be treated equally and go on the top shelf together.
This means that Christian works, which also have immense historical and literary value, will be kept out of the reach and sight of many readers.

Couldn’t they put the koran in the bathroom? That’s where my copy is, at least what’s left of it.

I agree with putting all religious books on the same shelf. However, the Bible is not a religious book.
Another nail in the coffin of the UK. I wonder when and if any of them are going to stand up and fight this to the death, if necessary.
And I hope that the Brits that read this will find that bible and put it right back where it belongs.

I think it wold be a good idea to put the Bible down a few shelves to eye level. They can keep the Koran up higher where nobody will notice it

I can see the day when Big Ben becomes a minaret and is drowned out by the call to prayer, and St. Paul’s becomes a mosque.
And the Brits will all put their asses in the air at tea-time...

From what I have read, if the “muzzies in the U.K. demanded that everyone eat crap you would see the politicans walking around with a turd in their mouth and one in each hand.
But the way things appear to be going, our turn is right around the corner.
Religious books are written by man. The Bible is the written word of God and as such should not be on the same shelf as the Koran with its focus on death.

Explain to me how the Koran is a “religious” book and the Bible is not a “religious” book.

Then you misread me. My point is that the Bible is the written word of God. Christianity unlike every other “religion” is in fact not a religion at all. It is a faith and trust in the creator of all things and the salvation brought to us by his Son, Jesus Christ.
Religion is man-made. Christianity is God made. Big difference.

The Bible is the word of God and God’s way of reaching out to man. Religion is (occasionally) man’s sad and pitiful attempt to explain God.
I think many of us bristled at his response. But his subsequent answer should make us all rethink our “over quick” responses. Might have been better if he had given the whole answer in his original post … however, got’s to admit, his overall effect, was, well … effective. ;-)

Do you know how many things in good Ol Britain should be placed on the shelf? Let’s see - New Labor, Old Labor, Labor Labor Labor, Liberal Labor, that liberal Darling Finance guy who is part of Labor. Why don’t they stop pretending, dissolve Parliament and set up the Sharia tent near St. James’ Park.
