Wilmington NC stations made the switch early, in September. It was not TEOTWAWKI....
Why does 1996 come to mind.....
And they were add-ons that allowed for backward compatibility. Nobody was shut out in the process of broadcasting an add-on.
Me thinks the stations that had to wait to put their UHF digital signal onto their old analog VHF assignment, wanted to get there asap.
All the others are willing to pay for the double exposure til June.
I still see that there are plenty of idiots in this country. I wonder if they think they should have been warned that this change was coming. Somebody should have told them. / sarc
Three stations in the Raleigh area switched. One station mgr. said not switching would cost them $25k/mo.
I hooked up a converter box to a bedroom TV that is barely watchable on rabbit ears,ghosts,some snow.
Anyway I was amazed at the quality of the pic with the little loop between the r. ears.
Far better than the VHF signal.
Got me psyched to to stick an antenna in the attic.
