An anti-gay U.S. Christian preacher and his daughter have been barred from entering Britain as they could spread "extremism and hatred," the British government said Thursday.
The Reverend Fred Phelps, founder of the Westboro Baptist Church in Kansas, had been due in Britain to protest at a play about the murder of a gay man.
But British Home Secretary Jacqui Smith said she had decided to prevent Phelps and his daughter Shirley Phelps-Roper from entering the country....

He's a dangerous nutcase. He's not a Christian. If at all possible, the US should block his attempt to return.
Good for Britian. (Maybe they should do this with more of the dangerous Islamic nutcases.)

I will stand and cheer when the damned UK sinks into the sea. They are a self inflicted wound. Turning over their country to liberals, communists, socialists and Izzmo terrorists. Self inflicted wound. Poor Churchill. If he saw what was happening now, he would probably have let Hitler win.

Ordinarily I’d be agreeing with your rant. However, look at who they denied admittance to - The “Reverend” Fred Phelps. In this particular case, good call on their parts.

What a slam by Al-Reuters. Fred Phelps is no preacher in the classical sense Reuters uses. Fred Phelps is a hate-monger. Fred Phelps is a Democrat who supported Al Gore in 2000.

If Britain would ban entry to all these muslims they might have a chance to make it as a part of civilization.

Of course the guy is crazy, of course he isn't a Christian and does not speak for American or any other Christians. The problem here is one of free speech. If we censor one man's speech who's next? James Dobson?..Pat Robertson?.. Billy Graham?
I don't agree with anything this guy says but as some one who grew up in the UK I am concerned now that the government is controlling speech to a point where you can't say anything negative about Islam, the gay agenda or anything contravertial. There is no conservative talk radio in the UK or Christian radio or TV. Unless the man is actually planning to promote civil unrest he shouldn't be denied free speech rights. The leftists running the country will soon ban any preacher/politician who does not fit the PC mould.

You took the words right out of my mouth. Phelps is a POS, but to my recollection he hasn’t beheaded anyone. He’s just a hateful gasbag. It’s funny that Britain will admit the muzzies that are destroying their country and the rest of Europe and pander ad nauseum to them, while they deny entry to an eccentric loudmouth.

I somewhat disagree. Mr. Phelps is not being denied his right to free speech. He is being denied entry to country of which he is not a citizen, which is a privilege and not a right. Every nation has a right to control its borders, and I’m sure that Her Majesty’s police forces have better things to do than deal with this pig-eyed sack of s***.

I’m very suspicious about this Phelps. The things he says and does make absolutely no sense to any Christian, including those who think homosexual activity is immoral. “Hate the sin and love the sinner” is the correct Christian approach. And to picket people’s funerals is far from Christian charity. I think the man is a Democratic plant to try and tar social conservatives.
To: steve-b
Fred Phelps? You mean the Democrat straw-man Al Gore supporter?
That Fred Phelps?

I think the man is a Democratic plant to try and tar social conservatives. And you would be correct,Phelps, a Democrat, endorsed Al Gore's Democratic bid for the presidency in 1988.
And blatantly refers to President George W Bush as a "mongrel and idiot" on his God Hates Fags website. In that respect Phelps has more in common with radical homosexual activists than Conservative Christian fundamentalists. Think about it, you don't have to be the head cashier at wal-mart to figure out which side of the culture war Fred Phelps is on.
To quote a fellow freeper
"Fred Phelps is to Conservative Christianity as Adolpf Hitler was to Germany"
