Muslim preacher Anjem Choudary has called for people who get drunk to be flogged.
The lawyer, who recently praised the Mumbai terror attacks, said anyone becoming intoxicated by alcohol should be given 40 lashes in public. He claimed alcohol was "the root of all evil".
The 41-year-old made the remarks on his website Islam4UK, which argues that Britain should become an Islamic state ruled by Sharia law.

I’m not needling, just informing. Also, I’m not a big PC fan, (obviously), but I have to go with Mumbai if my information is correct.
I heard that when the Brits showed up in India, they couldn’t understand the locals, and Mumbai became Bombay to them. The Indians call it Mumbai, and it is their city. I guess it’s the same kind of thing that happened to Peking/Beijing.
Anyway, I’m just throwing that out there.
Well, the U.S. did try a different kind of variation of the idea that alcohol was the root of “many evils”, anyway. But people preferred the evil to purity, and/or it was turning the country into an entire race of “criminals” — so we got rid of it...
So the new commemorative porcelain Mohammed decanter of Jim Beam, (favored in secret by the Saudi royalty), would not be a good Ramadan present?
