Obama's move toward Iran worries Gulf states
While the moderate, Sunni-dominated Gulf states were outspoken critics of President George W. Bush's aggressive approach to the Middle East, President Obama's diplomatic overtures to radical, Shiite-dominated Iran also has Gulf leaders worried, reports the Jordan Times:
"Our basic demand is that America should not give concessions on the Iranian nuclear programme and its interventions in Iraq, Lebanon and Palestine . . . ," said Mustafa Alani of the Dubai-based Gulf Research Centre.
"We should be a part of these negotiations. We don't want any surprises. We need to be a partner and our interests need to be represented," Alani continued. Gulf Arabs, who warned against the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003, now fear the early withdrawal promised by Obama will leave that country in the hands of Iranian-allied Shiite politicians who have dominated the post-Saddam Hussein government. They fear a U.S. administration that rules out military action will fail to curb Tehran's nuclear programme, and eventually leave Sunni Arabs squeezed between two non-Arab nuclear power centresIran and Israel.

Maybe the Iranian Shi’ites will only moderately cut their heads off then.
Do people realize how bad you have to be, to make Middle-Eastern nations ask you to be more Conservative?
Honestly, this is the low point of the last 75 years in U.S. foreign policy.
Actually it would be more accurate to depict Odumbo as Monica Lewinsky...
“...Obama’s move toward Iran worries Gulf states...”
wait a minute - the MSM told me that the Gulf States thought Bush and the USA were war-mongers, who didn’t care about US protection or democracy, and were insulted because Bush, Cheney and the Zionists were intent on waging war on their Iranian Muslim brothers to steal their oil????
Hey, he’s the Messiah. He knows what he’s doing.
Hah!
Be worried, very worried.
Be worried, very worried.

it should also worry all the rest of us.
I am thinking more and more of the possilbiity that the US military may have to step in and perform a peaceful overthrow of “The One” so we don’t lose our entire country.
I stopped doing those kinds of things as I try to keep my stuff clean. Although I do have lapses... like when Tony Blair let the Iranians kidnap British soldiers like an impotent wuss...

But I won't post that kind of stuff as FreeRepublic has more class.
I did not say that I have more class... :D
After the "Clintonization" of our military, are there any leaders who could effect this? (Perhaps Gen. Petraeus). However, for the first time, I am thinking that this could really happen, especially if zero pushes ahead with his Brownshirt paramilitary force.

Is Barack Obama the “promised warrior” coming to help the Hidden Imam of Shiite Muslims conquer the world?
The question has made the rounds in Iran since last month, when a pro-government Web site published a Hadith (or tradition) from a Shiite text of the 17th century. The tradition comes from Bahar al-Anvar (meaning Oceans of Light) by Mullah Majlisi, a magnum opus in 132 volumes and the basis of modern Shiite Islam.
According to the tradition, Imam Ali Ibn Abi-Talib (the prophet’s cousin and son-in-law) prophesied that at the End of Times and just before the return of the Mahdi, the Ultimate Saviour, a “tall black man will assume the reins of government in the West.” Commanding “the strongest army on earth,” the new ruler in the West will carry “a clear sign” from the third imam, whose name was Hussein Ibn Ali. The tradition concludes: “Shiites should have no doubt that he is with us.”
In a curious coincidence Obama’s first and second names—Barack Hussein—mean “the blessing of Hussein” in Arabic and Persian. His family name, Obama, written in the Persian alphabet, reads O Ba Ma, which means “he is with us,” the magic formula in Majlisi’s tradition.
Mystical reasons aside, the Khomeinist establishment sees Obama’s rise as another sign of the West’s decline and the triumph of Islam. Obama’s promise to seek unconditional talks with the Islamic Republic is cited as a sign that the U.S. is ready to admit defeat. Obama’s position could mean abandoning three resolutions passed by the United Nations Security Council setting conditions that Iran should meet to avoid sanctions. Seeking unconditional talks with the Khomeinists also means an admission of moral equivalence between the U.S. and the Islamic Republic. It would imply an end to the description by the U.S. of the regime as a “systematic violator of human rights.”
Obama has abandoned claims by all U.S. administrations in the past 30 years that Iran is “a state sponsor of terrorism.” Instead, he uses the term “violent groups” to describe Iran-financed outfits such as Hamas and Hezbollah.
Obama has also promised to attend a summit of the Organization of the Islamic Conference within the first 100 days of his presidency. Such a move would please the mullahs, who have always demanded that Islam be treated differently, and that Muslim nations act as a bloc in dealings with Infidel nations.
Apparently Zero is so inexperienced that he doesn’t know that all the Gulf states are terrified of Iran.
Ich bin beginner!
How radical do you have to be when a former KGB agent in Russia (Putin) warns you that you are going to socialist?
“Apparently Zero is so inexperienced that he doesnt know that all the Gulf states are terrified of Iran.”
Or he doesn’t care...
All of Obama’s moves worry me.
I’m thinking quite radical.
I think he is just spectacularly ignorant.
An Urban Cracker.
This explains his Biden pick which has been a mystery to me. Not anymore.
Dear God, Islam is Obama’s goal, I firmly believe that.
“Tehran’s penchant for Obama, reflected in the official media, increased when the Illinois senator chose Joseph Biden as his vice-presidential running mate. Biden was an early supporter of the Khomeinist revolution in 1978-1979 and, for the past 30 years, has been a consistent advocate of recognizing the Islamic Republic as a regional power. He has close ties with Khomeinist lobbyists in the U.S. and has always voted against sanctions on Iran.”
I used to think he was just mindless and ignorant, but his first month in office has shown that he is also evil and arrogant.
I really wanted to give him credit for being just stupid, but sadly, I think I was proven wrong.
Having thought about your statement for ..oh... ten seconds, I think he is not only ignoreant but that he has severed issues. Narcissism is only one of them....

Hussein want an Iranian nuke....to counter US and Israeli power, he wants an International Criminal court for Israeli and US military.
The mere fact of that happening would be the end of the country as Constitutional republic, even in theory. (I know we're no longer one in practice, obviously). But that really would be the end of the United States of America under the current Constitution.
His lack of experience will be his doom. He believes he can talk to them when no one else could.
