AP

February 21, 2009 --

Former President George W. Bush has visited a Dallas hardware store that earlier this month made him a lighthearted offer to work as a greeter.

Andrea Bond, a manager at Elliott's Hardware, says Bush walked into the store Saturday and quipped: "I'm looking for a job.".........

Again, I strive for the best option, not the compromise.

You got neither.

Only a fool believes that there is any way to fully “close” a 2000 mile rustic border or seriously believes that “closing” a border with our second largest trading partner would be a good idea.

What a liberal/socialist thing to say!

In addition, Bush was pushing big govt liberalism 80% while calling it "compassionate conservatism":
Expanded Federal control of Education
Expanded Medicare
Reduced freedom of speech (mccain-feingold)
Refused to close & protect borders after 9-11
Supported amnesty for 30+ million ILLEGALS
MAssive increase in federal spending (beyond WOT)

That's just for starters...now go back to DU/koz-kommieland

Yeah Right! His constituents are comprised of welfare, “gimme everything for free folks,” liberal anti American Kool-Aid drinkers & foreigners, quite a grim group, thanks for the reminder, Loyal Bug-eye!

He sold his Crawford ranch the day he moved out of the White House

Where did you hear that claim?

Garbage. Your ignorance is showing.

The Bushes have been at the ranch in Crawford until this past week when they moved into the house in Preston Hollow, which is very near his new office and the site of the Presidential library at SMU. They’ll be spending weeks in Dallas, time off in Crawford.

A kid who spent his childhood in the dusty streets of west Texas can take only so much of Dallas — or any city — as an adult. Believe me, I know.

As disgusting as spending was with Conress in Republican hands, the current orgy of spending makes them look like tightwads. I only hope that Congress returns to Republican control and the Specters, Snowes and Collins' are gone - replaced by Republicans.

At current rates, how long until interest on the debt, entitlements and defense consume the entire budget? At some point a new Congress will figure out there's no money left for anything - not even good ideas. Then ideology won't matter. You say: "more money for x", I say: "less" and the budget says: "none left".

Wow. Congratulations on drinking the Obama kool-aid. You assert today’s economic crises is a result of President Bush’s fiscal and border policy? It’s obvious you have no idea or understanding of the key difference between FISCAL and MONETARY policy. You said fiscal policy. What a clown.

The financial mess was born primarily of Clinton’s Community Reinvestment Act which forced lenders to make risky loans to low-to-mod income people at high risk. Underwritten by Freddie and Fannie, (mortgage backed securities) these were loans that would not have otherwise ever been made available by private banks due to the risk.

Go ahead, love Obama. Obey him. Mindlessly agree with his every word. Gaze dreamy-eyed at him. You’re beyond a lost cause.

You are clueless.....my quote:

“At least Obama pays attention to his constituents.”

Meaning the LEFT, you idiot. It was not an endorsement of Obama by any means. Maybe if you though instead of reflexively defending Bush you would have figured that out.

Your own words were indeed an implicit endorsement of Obama. Your own words, in which you suggested Obama will be better and laying the blame squarely at Bush’s feet. But I forgot, folks of your ilk lay the blame at Bush’s feet for everything that is wrong.

Hope your Che Guevara-esque Obama sticker on your Prius holds for the next for years. Also, read a primer on the differences between fiscal and monetary policy. Perhaps von Mises “Theory of Money and Credit.”

“At least Obama pays attention to his constituents.”

Actually, if you want reflexive logic and the paradox: Obama’s constituents (albeit mindlessly) pay attention to him.

Got it. Sorry for the misunderstanding. When you wrote constiuents, I thought that included all Americans, which would be my normal interpretation.

Most of how the left treated him was due to irrational hatred going back to 2000.

A willing press made sure it never stopped.

I agree re: Bush's communication skills.

Obama's approval should be hunky-dory considering what a great communicator teleprompter reader he is.
