Barack Obama Did NOT INHERIT Bad Economy
Flopping Aces ^ | February 22, 2009 | Scott

Posted on 02/22/2009 10:13:35 AM PST by Kaslin

Now, my administration inherited a deficit of over $1 trillion, but because we also inherited the most profound economic emergency since the Great Depression, doing little or nothing at all will result in even greater deficits, even greater job loss, even greater loss of income, and even greater loss of confidence.

It might be technically true that his Presidential Administration inherited it, but he himself did not. No, he created it. Before being elected President Barack Obama was a Senator in a party that controlled both houses of Congress with a lame duck President. From 2006-present, the economy has faltered increasingly. However, the big crash happened while he was a senator at a time when Congress ruled the land (ie a lame duck Presidency). Yes, President Bush still had some power, but the majority of power was with the Democratic Party-controlled Congress; with Senator Obama’s Congress. Add to that the fact that President Bush was unusually catering to Pres-elect Obama after the November election, and not only did Bush consult with Obama, but at Obama’s urging he authorized the bailouts for insurance company AIG, for car corporations, and for the $700billion TARP fiasco. Obama himself URGED the first $700billion, the deficit “his administration” inherited was created by a budget that he and his party created in Congress just prior to his election as President.

No, Obama did not inherit the bad economy. He created it, and shame on him for misrepresenting its origin by sly wording rather than honest and genuine admission of mistakes. Bush had enough mistakes to take responsibility for, and the time for scapegoating passed when millions of Democrats (filled with the spirit of hope, change, and bi-partisan unity) booed the figurehead of 46% of the nation as his helicopter left the Inauguration.

Obama and the Democrats created the bad economy, it happened on their watch-because of their budgeting, their bailout demands, and their poor choices. Time to man up Mr President.

The new RNC chariman Michael Steele needs to get in front of this Obama lie that Obama inherited this economy.

This is the very thing the we Republicans allow the Democrats to do to us everytime and the American public begins to believe it.

Once Obama signed the Porkulus bill into law, his admin has owned all aspects of the economy.

Some perspective from IBD.

This mess has been building for 10-15 years.

There are plenty of things to fault Obamarama for, we don't need to invent things that don't exist.

How much blame did GWB place on Clinton for the economic mess he inherited?

Worldcom, Enron, dotcom bust, 9/11(definitely Clinton’s fault)....

When Americans put the Dems in control in 2006, we sealed our fate. How much different would the last two years have been if President Bush had had a Republican majority to work with...especially on TARP.

Democrats added pork to every single thing since they took over, refused to consider opening up oil drilling (fueling the wild speculation in oil), and wasted their time “investigating” the war and calling Petraeus a liar instead of actually governing.

Of course Obumbi will blame GWB, but that’s only going to work for a short while...after Odumbo’s massive spending, he owns this.

So what if he did? He’s not the first President to inherit a bad economy. GW Bush inherited a bad economy. Clinton inherited a bad economy. Reagan inherited a bad economy. Since when is that an excuse for failure to perform?

All of that is true, but I've found that liberals simply want to blame everything before Inauguration Day on Bush. What they cannot blame on Bush is every choice Obama has made since January 20th...those are his. He may have inherited a bad economy, but trillion dollar deficit spending, tax increases and constant gloom and doom rhetoric is making it far, far worse...and he owns that.

The bursting of the credit/mortgage bubble was inevitable - and a subsequent nosedive couldn’t have been avoided - but the Democrat controlled Congress, along with this Idiot Child President has made the situation several times worse than it would have been.

Well, Dubya also inherited a crap economy from Clinton, presided during the worst attack on US soil ever and dealt with the tanking airline and tourist industry.

He went to work without complaint or blame and within 2 years we experienced growth, wealth creation, new jobs and prosperity.

What will be O-Face’s excuse?

Doesn’t make any difference what year it was...the FACTS are just that...the good “Clinton economy” was the result of a responsible GOP Congress. Clinton didn’t have a clue.

If you will recall he said we couldn’t balance the budget...oh yeah, we could, but not in 7 years, not in 10 year...well, maybe we could, but it would be to “painful”..

Well, this is absolutely true. But I can’t send it out to my email list, because they would say, “Well, OK. But where was Bush all that time? Why was he going along with the Democrats and taking Obama’s suggestions?”

As Harry Truman once said, seated in the Oval Office, “The buck stops here.”

Sure, it was Obama and his pals who were up to their armpits in the subprime loan fiasco. It was Obama who was the recipient of huge Fanny Mae campaign contributions. It was his pal Franklin Raines who ran that outfit into the ground. But it was Bush who failed to do anything about the CRA mess he inherited from Carter and Clinton. It was Bush who appointed the traitor Paulson, who was working for Obama when he suddenly broke the bailout crisis and tipped the election. It was Bush who reached out and was “nice” to these lying crooks. He had a bad habit of being “nice” to his political enemies, who were also the enemies of America.

So, it’s going to be a hard argument to make. The economy was already tanking when Obama took office. That’s going to be a hard fact to get around.

Reagan’s trickle down economy finally kicked in
while Clinton was in office which made him look good.

Then they lost the election. They weren’t about to let all the money and power get away this time. Enter Zero, (the ‘Clean One’, the one no one could NOT vote for, less they be racist) and his socialist Alinsky brainwashing ways.

MG, it’s so obvious who this POS represents and what his agenda is.

He sets ‘present’ on his throne looking eloquently arrogant while he gets his buddies to instigate all things he wants ‘changed’.

But I blame the (Rs) for not listening to the people and actually for not being too bright. Yeah, I’m bashing the Rs. I am no longer a Republican. I have finally found that I am a Reagan Conservative.

This would explain the economic charts I've seen where things are doing fairly well until the dims take over Congress. That's when the curves take a major turn for the horrible.

However, things really have tanked now that the messiah is all but cutting off the market's head with a rusty butter knife while telling us all how horrible things are and how they're going to just get worse. No one, not even Jimmy Carter, is stupid enough to do something like that by accident, especially not a socialist. This feels deliberate...makes me wonder why? what next? and where's this eventually going?

Dubya was also blasted with Katrina, California fires and the worst midwest floods ever, in fact, no President in history has had to deal with as many natural disasters as he did in 8 yrs along with Afghanistan/Taliban and Iraq/Al Queda.

No real reports were ever given on the HUGE amount of YELLOW CAKE our military found in Iraq, and had to sit on for years, and finally shipped to Canada last year...only the Candadian Press printed it...AP may have had an article but no praise for Bush who pulled it off. Do you know what those countries like Iran would have done if they had known all that yellow cake was right there in Middle East...Bush/Cheney kept silent and the military did a great job of protecting it until it could be moved...WHERE WERE THE MEDIA ON THAT ONE WHEN IT COULD BE TOLD??
