Local malcontents are planning a "Tea Party" in Davenport, Iowa. Initial planning is for one hour demonstration on: Saturday,28 Feb, Noon to 1pm, at or near Main and Locust Sts, within sight of Senator Harkin's Davenport office.

I’m a little slow today. I saw some stuff earlier about tea parties and didn’t get it.
Fellow FReepers and conservatives, we are beyond being the “Silent Majority” - the responsible people who won’t take off from work to become part of a rent-a-mob. Our time for action is now. We will never take control of this country or limit the Obama-Pelousy-Reid trifecta if we don’t take action.
With all due respect, methinks this is a waste of time. It will not get media coverage, IMHO, so it is a bit like peeing in your dark pants - gives you a nice warm feeling for a few moments but nobody notices.
We need to start organizing to start winning elections.
That's probably true . . . . . . . . . HOWEVER, if we do nothing at all and give up BEFORE we have begun to fight, we can be assured of getting no media coverage.
If enough of these "tea parties" are conducted across the US and if enough of us show up, sooner or later, the media will be FORCED to cover it by the sheer weight of the numbers. And, even if the DBM NEVER covers it, the politicians will still hear about it, and THEY are the ones whose attention we want. I could care less if perky katie couric, Brian "I'm more boring than watching dead people" Williams, or whoever the talking head is on SeeBS EVER report on this - as long as the selectively deaf people in Washington hear about it.
