Artificial reflexes. Interesting.

A girl I dated once (past tense) had similar reflexes to all my advances.

In the chip world, that’s a heck of a lot of time.

The last time that I went to the local range to practice, my targets must have been using that technology...

The armor would scan areas for incoming projectiles and when one is detected the system would deliver a shock to the muscles causing a swift reflexive action away from the projectile

Which materials when struck by a projectile do not swiftly move away from the projectile ?

What a joke. Ever wonder what the inside of your skull and your spinal column will look like after a movement to evade at 1200 fps? Two words: Federal grant. Now that Porkulus (Son of TARP) is on the move drippin in Federal dollars, we’re going to see more of this garbage as time goes on. All manner of worthless technology will be paraded before the anti-gun zealots in hopes of snaring some juicy government contract. None of it will work, but you’re still going to be required to pay for it.

Total, absolute nonsense. Ridiculous, impractical, and most likely impossible.

It seems to me the more sensible application would be making a non-newtonian “plate” that would rapidly deform to deflect the impact rather than allowing it to “deploy” its inertia on the target.
