He wasn’t suppose to give a speech IMO. Obama did that. He gave a reasoned rebuttal

I noticed MSNBC ripped off Frank Luntz’s dial-a-meter focus group reactions.

You are so right! I can still remember him talking about the shining city on the hill. No fire and brimstone — just made you feel very uplifted and full of optimism.

Palin would be a good choice in 2012.

Bobby would have sounded stronger if he were seated this time. He ran out of steam and struggled for air a couple times during the presentation. Probably because he was standing up... without the benefit of having a podium to lean on. It’s natural to get tired when attempting this. As someone who does a lot of sales presentations, let me tell you I’m at my best when seated or at a podium.

He can easily build up his endurance through exercise, and it will help him speak while standing without a podium. The decision not to provide a podium in such an important setting is bizarre to say the least. Michael Steele, please don’t let this happen again.

“I don’t know about whether it was a great speech. The man spoke for me.”

He spoke for me, too. I think there was some nervousness at the outset, but he recovered quickly. Remember, it’s more than speaking ability; Jindal will have the experience and accomplishments as an executive to run on, should he decide to make a go of it in 2012.

Though Jindal is not as slick a speaker as the zer0, he speaks from the heart, he’s the real deal and his optimism is infectious. The time will come when we’ll see him in front of a loud, responsive crowd. He’ll draw from the energy and bring out a much better speech.

Yeah, as long as she’s not being asked political questions. Sorry, I’ll never cast a vote for the woman. I’ve got my fingers crossed that Jindal will run in 2012.

Several people in Luntz’s focus group on Greta are praising Jindal’s rebuttal.

"Yep, Jindal’s never going to have thousands of people lining up from miles away for rallies all over the country."

Well said. : )

I wonder why they didn’t ask another governor to give the GOP response....say.....Sarah Palin?

McCain lost because of McCain. He ran against the oil companies. He ran for illegals. He was not conservative.

so he lost. Lieberman would not have changed that.

Hate? I don’t hate Palin. I wish her the best. I just don’t want her in a position of leadership. I’m less than impressed with her.

I absolutely do not want to see the Palin’s Couric interview 50,000 times in 2012. I love the lady, but I sure don’t want her as our candidate.

I think it’s important to see him as people who don’t know much about him would see him. I think he started out a little slow. There were some clever shots in there, but is he speaking to an audience that will ‘get’ those?

I like mostly what he had to say and he finished much stronger. Changing the ‘yes, we can’ to ‘Americans can do anything’. But he needs work on his delivery.
