You are not defending McCain I hope. McCain Conservative??? He pooped in his pants over TARP bailout. It was sickening how cowardly he was. Please dont say you are happy with GWB presidency.
He did say that about his mom being 4 months pregant and he was born here. I cracked up and then he referenced Obama’s Dad being a foreigner.
I see NO reason to equate him with Regan AT ALL
I can’t even watch that POS. NEVER in a million years can anyone compare him to Reagan, give me a break.
That picture looks like Bubba asked Bush Sr. to pull his finger.
An old Liberal like McLame managed to beat the tough guy Rudy in FL. He finished a distant 3rd after betting the farm on Floriduh.
We didn't have time in the latter part of 2008, when we let Bush & Congress pass the first bailout. We didn't have time from 2000 - 2006 when we let a Republican controlled House, Senate & White House go to waste. We didn't have time in 97/98 when we allowed the Senate not to impeach Clinton. Do we honestly, truthfully have time now?
Yeah, he is definitely stuck on himself and where he lives, isn’t he.
Mitt’s home here is next to one of his money men
I remember researching him and finding out he basically governed to the left of Clinton. I couldn’t believe that he passed more fees, etc. in 10 years then Clinton did in 12. That spoke volumes!
Couldn’t believe it when he got his program. He is no Conservative. Also didn’t agree with home schooling as Governor.
I like Jindal even more now than I did before. I think he did great! Endless attacks easily backfire; he spoke to those who kicked the GOP out in 06 and 08 and identified the mistakes the party made. I think this will score some serious points. A rational, reasoned approach, instead of the rabid, bug-eyed attack that the libs expected.
I agree totally with your assessment. Jindal did a very appropriate and intelligent speech....and this is the first time I heard him speak. It’s nice to see sincere, honest intelligence...
My support of Rudy is based on one thing. The fact that I believe the world is going to Hell in a hand-basket with Mexico about to dissolve into chaos, Pakistan about to become a Taliban-run country with nukes, South America continuing to fall to despots like Chavez.
I want an SOB in the White House, who is loyal to this country, and Rudy IMHO is the only viable candidate that fits the bill. All of his views on social issues pale in comparison to what we will be facing on the world stage. And Obama is going to leave it as a huge mess when he is done with his first (and hopefully only) term.
Yeah...there were a few tongue-in-cheek subtleties that people missed in that speech. :)
What are you talking about? That's a boldfaced lie. I haven't encountered a single Mitt supporter who didn't also like Palin, and I communicate with many quite frequently by E-mail, where people are more likely to be honest about their opinions.
“Fred was in the primaries along with Mike to help John McCain win.”
There’s no way McCain would’ve become the nominee without those two.
You DO sound like a troll...
Right now it is Roy Jenkins “Churchill”. Jenkins was/is a liberal politician, and knew him. So you have to take some things with a grain of salt, but overall it is a good read.
Even better is William Manchesters “Last Lion” series.
I wish it were that simple. McCain was merely a patsy. He (or rather his overlords) ordered his entire campaign NOT to lay a glove on 0bama.
"Palin is not too conservative for the GOP. Last I read she had a 90% approval rating among the R's...."
Oh, I agree with you; It's the vibe the GOP is putting out there as they and McCain hung her out to dry. She became an unexpected "accidental" star - much to the GOP's chagrin.
"Romney ran on a pro-life Reagan platform, and while Governor was conservative on 24 of 26 issues, until he became pro-life which made 25. I understand why people perceive it the way you do, but in my opinion it's an inaccurate perception. Additionally, he's a Washington outsider, who's and expert on the economy."
Unfortunately, Romney had to cut some corners to succeed in Mass., and perception becomes reality. I believe he was railroaded during the Primary, as do you. As they say, he "WUZ ROBBED." By the NWO Elites.
To tell you the truth, after 4 years between the Marxist-in-Chief and the Globalist tearing at us from the other end, I'm not sure what'll be left of the America or Constitution by 2012...
Aren't I Mr. Optimism? :-D
It was refreshing wasn’t it. Jindal definitely has a bright future in the GOP
I was not defending McCain. I was defending Jindal. I am thankful GWB kept my family and friends safe for seven years. For that I am eternally grateful for him.
We are Americans.
You’re damned right.
Jindal doesn’t want volcanoes to be monitored? Is he trying to take Palin out early?
I am with you — his speech style is one of I am above all and he NEVER looks at the camera but at his teleprompters the whole time. I bet ZERO couldn’t wing a speech like Sarah and Rudy did at the Convention when their teleprompters messed up.
Have never gotten where they say ZERO is a good speaker. He rambles and rambles and when you reflect on what he said, you have a hard time figuring it out. To me a good speaker is one who can speak without using a teleprompter.
One of the best speeches I have ever heard was George Allen when he spoke to the OK GOP Convention the other year. He never looked down but look at the audience, spoke from the heart and no teleprompter. He was AWESOME to hear speak in person and probably why the MSM spent so much time going after him.
The average voter these days has the IQ of a lamp.
With the switch turned OFF.
Isn’t his first name Piyush?
Isnt his first name Piyush?
Still think it was a Sanjaya-like iteration. At least now, after hearing that rebuttal, I know to keep my hands inside the ride....
Buying SPAM. Call your grandparents and ask them about the Great Depression. Start to like soup.
You’re right there, I live in Michigan,and don’t I know it!
But, in what world do you think ANY republican will garner votes there?
Besides all the vote rigging that goes on there, the rest of us don’t have a chance.
I have admit there are racist people here who will not support Jindal cause of his race.. I know it is harsh, but that is the truth. They wont say it but look for clues in the wording.
I disagree totally with that statement. Race doesn’t matter. It’s content and abilities. Where were you born????
We need BOTH style AND substance, like Reagan had. It was Reagan who convinced me BOTH are important. Two of the reasons he was so effective.
Bill Clinton didn’t appear to have “it” in 1988. Jindal isn’t running in 2012 because he is running for re-election as governor in late 2011. He is 37, young, very bright, and has room and time to grow. Don’t discount Jindal 8, 12, or even 16 years down the road.
NEVER in a million years can anyone compare him to Reagan, give me a break.
President Reagan was more “American” than this POS’s shoe laces.
I was at five of his events in OK and he specifically said over and over again he would not turn back the ban on government funds to international organizations on abortion. He did not believe that taxpayer money should go to fund abortions. He also was very big on adoptions.
Lot of people didn’t like him but he didn’t put a finger in the wind to see which way it was blowing. It was this is who I am and you knew where he stood on the issues.
Figure he will most likely be the next Governor of NY which would be AWESOME!
Welcome newbie. Like I said, Obozo would be stupid not to be represented on this thread.
Pray for America, Our Troops and obama
Why am I not surprised?
There was only one Reagan and always will be. To compare him to anyone else is a disservice to his Greatness. Nobody will measure up to his legend although it seems the libs are always comparing themselves to him.
Pray for America
“It remains to be seen if Governor Palin will recover enough in four years to be able to win the general. But certainly she’ll be recovered in eight.”
I am thinking Romney is the best candidate for 2012. Sarah should serve two full terms as governor and then run in 2016 (if Romney doesn’t win).
RG for Gov and Pataki in the Senate, awesome
No more RINOs.
Huckebee doesn’t stand a chance. He’s right where he needs to be; a weekend talk show host.
“Untouchable. More Reaganesque than Reagan.”
Unconstitutional, too. The ticket cannot be from the same state. Hunter is a good man but we need a governor not a legislator. Besides, he has no star power - not even on the Pawlenty level.
Yes, we have a couple years to deal with it but I can’t agree with the rest.
Who among us can’t say we haven’t had a “pre-marriage” situation in our families? I think it just puts her among the normal people. I know she’ll get the vote of the midwest because it happens. Having a family member become pregnant before marriage has happened since time immorial. It’s unfortunate they didn’t get married before the baby was born but has no bearing in her political career.
I hadn’t thought of Rudy for awhile, but maybe he might be a viable candidate in ‘12. Remember how Dinkins failed after he was hailed as the 1st black mayor of NYC. The problem w/Rudy though is that he has been out of office too long and can only talk about 9/11.
I hope he runs for Governor of New York, I think being Governor will help Rudy to make him more viable.
I'd like to use your tactics and say the above means Sarah Palin shouldn't run according to you, but I know you're referring to those who ran for president. : )
If we employed YOUR rule, Reagan would never have run in 1980, and we would have missed out on his two glorious presidential terms, to the great detriment of our nation.
“Do you notice he never has a real conservative come on his program - someone to his right? That wouldnt be hard to do.”
He’s had Ann Coulter on his show. See clips on popmodal:
