Obama Removes the Mask

President Obama’s speech Tuesday night should put to rest the argument as to who he really is. He revealed plans so sweeping and so expensive that, if they came to pass, we would permanently refashion the role of the federal government in the lives of every American.

During the campaign certain Republicans and libertarians tried to convince us Obama was a moderate, a sort of Bill Clinton “third way” reformer — and certainly no radical as conservatives claimed. Conservatives remained skeptical. Then during the transition, the debate as to Obama’s political philosophy continued. He sprinkled his cabinet with sober figures and experienced economic gurus. So perhaps he was moderate in outlook and restrained in ambition.

Next came the stimulus plan. Yes, he delegated the entire enterprise to Nancy Pelosi and the liberal draftsmen in Congress. But perhaps this was an error in judgment, a departure from what he “really” wanted in order to achieve a stimulus plan.

Well, the mystery has been solved. Obama is an unalloyed and extreme liberal....

But now it is crystal clear what the party’s task must be: defend the free market and oppose the vast expansion of government which the president envisions. There is no getting around it. The opposition party must oppose.

WHAT opposition party!? The GOP is attached to the Left at the nipple.

if we have to depend on them, the republic is condemned.

I could not possibly agree more.

The Republicans haven’t really opposed any Democratic/socialist plan in a very long time. When the Democrats come up with some socialist government program that they claim will cost us 100 billion, do the Republicans stand up and say “NO, this is socialism, and it is anathema to American liberty!”? yeah, right. No. they come up with their own version of the same thing, but their plan “only” costs us 75 billion....that’s being “conservative”, you see...

Odd, how we think of Clinton’s as moderates. Okay true confession here. At this point, I would be glad to have Hillary Clinton in as President.

“...if they came to pass, we would permanently refashion the role of the federal government in the lives of every American.”

Why the surprise? Isn’t that exactly what he promised he would do before the elections took place? Obama and the democrats are definitely not America’s friends. I hope the republicans and the people of this country realize this.

I haven't heard of any libertarians like that. Neal Boortz and Jason Lewis were all over the Obama's leftist extremism.

Of course, having John McCain try and paint Obama as a centrist was pretty much par for the course from that RINO.

"“Republicans must...blah, blah, blah.” All republicans do is talk."

What we need is a "new" Republican party, one with real conservative Republicans in it that embrace and never waver from the true American founding principles and the CHRISTIAN values it was founded on.

What we have now are "blue" Republicans, AKA RINO's.

Obama is ANTI-Conservative....

His plan is to Increase Taxes, Grow Government and Destroy the Defense budget it is the antithesis of what Reagan did.

Obama says Government is the cure to what ailes us.

Coming up Massive debt will cause the dollars deflation, massive inflation in this country, unemployment through the roof due to the massive overtaxing and we will get the PAIN INDEX back again.

Jimmah Carter has nothing on this guy.

"Well, the mystery has been solved. Obama is an unalloyed and extreme liberal."

No mystery to me. The real mystery is why so few have figured it out. It reminds me of the man who was caught in bed with another woman and telling his wife that the woman was a representative of the mattress company helping him test the mattress. When the wife believes it, that is what I call rampant denial syndrome.

The Clintons (either one) are not moderates. They are socialists and having either of them in control would just be a little slower drive down the same Communist road Obama is taking us down. The destination would be the same: the end of a free America.

extreme liberal...

I pray he doesn't die in office from an accident or any other reason and serves out his term absorbing as much damage to the Democrat brand name as possible. The younger set don't know who Carter was and this is their 4 year education. I'm afraid the Democrat mafia won't let this play out and will opt for another JFK or MLK ending.
