The pensioner has hand-baked and painted every clay brick and tile and even sculpted 4,000 tiny human figures to populate the courtyards

Wow! What an amazing model.

And to think that the real buildings came crashing down in flames in 70 AD.

Thanks, mojito. This is a true labor of love.

It also shows how massive the Temple complex was.

And why the Pharisees scoffed when Jesus predicted that one day, not one stone of what they were looking out would remain atop another.

In 70 AD, the Romans destroyed this complex and left not one stone atop another of this structure.

20 x 12 feet, huh? Interesting. Very detailed. I wonder why he did Herod’s temple and not Solomon’s . . . .

“Each one takes about three hours to make and there are 32 versions of Jesus, although no one can ever spot him no matter how religious they are”

Modern visitors should not feel too bad, even the Romans couldn’t spot him...

Some of our spouses did, even if we wish we had, too.

I wonder why he did Herod’s temple and not Solomon’s . . . .

I think we only have a hazy idea what Solomon's temple looked like. Some historians argue that it was more like a family chapel than a temple as we understand it. Herod's Temple was much larger and was a major pilgrimage site as well as tourist attraction and was well known in the ancient world.
