Five elderly people suspected of practising witchcraft were burnt to death in western Kenya, police have said.
"They include four women and a man in their 80's who were accused of having abducted a child," Kisii deputy police Commander Manasseh Musyoka said yesterday.
The killings occurred at Bomatara Village in Mosocho Division.
A resident who declined to be named said the abducted child was found dumped on the roadside.
"He was unconscious and when he regained it, he was able to tell the names of his abductors. That is when a decision was reached in the village to hunt them down. And they were all burnt in their houses," he said.
In March last year, 12 people, mainly elderly men and women were burnt to death in Nyamira district in similar circumstances.
Dear leader's brother still lives in a mud down there still If I am not mistaken. He could have tossed a little one hundred dollar a pound beef in that direction just for families sake.
0bama’s from where?, again...
Maybe Granny Obama can sacrifice a few chickens to the “goddess of the river” to make it stop.
0bamas from where?, again...

Call them witches and burn them at the stake.

What is Obama’s buddy (cousin?) Odinga going to do about this. Or did he order it?
Has anyone seen our Secretary of State recently?
They could have tried building a bridge out of them first.
Could the fat be in the fire?
Mrs. Bill Clinton hasn't finished being debriefed by Foreign Policy Commissar, political enforcer Samantha Power.

Sounds to me like they abducted a child and got some vigilante justice.
If there is no proper justice system there, it is understandable.
Yes, I believe in a rule of law, etc., but if there isn’t a lawful system, well, you kill the person who kidnapped your child. I don’t know how it is there. But I don’t think the witchcraft was the problem, it was the kidnapping which was apparently part of the witchcraft.
Title should be “Alleged Kidnappers killed by Villagers.”
These alleged kidnappers were in their eighties. The story doesn’t say how old the child was.
The modernist thought on this is that the witch burnings, etc., were part of early peoples fears and it was easier to blame the death of a cow on an old lady up the road when you don't understand disease. The real truth is that people both believe and practice witchcraft, and some of the rituals aren't the cute sand drawings they show on the discovery channel.
I'm also not talking about the new age wiccans. The voodoo witch doctors are bad news, and there are tons of them in Africa.
This reads like a story in your own neighborhood 2 years ....er, 1 year....I mean 6-8 months from now.
If they burn they’re guilty, if not they’re innocent.
That is some really archaic and dated thinking. I prefer more modern and scientific methods, such as: If you weigh the same as a duck, then, logically, youre made of wood and must be a witch. :))
