"The Democrats think you are stupid," Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) told the under-40 crowd at CPAC brought together by the Young Conservatives Coalition. DeMint marveled that so many young people supported Barack Obama in 2008, given that they will get the bill for the Democrats' massive deficit spending.
The YCC is a new group founded by a network of young DC-area activists, and describes itself as "an advocacy organization dedicated to leading the next generation of the conservative movement." At today's even in the Omni Shoreham Hotel's Palladian room, YCC distributed orange-and-black stickers with their motto, "It's Our Turn."
"People under the age of 40 are stepping up to leadership," YCC President Christopher Maligisi told the crowd.
Grassroots activism is vital to the supporting conservatives in Congress, DeMint said. "Thank you for what you're doing," he said. "We have no chance at all without you."
In a brief interview following his YCC speech, DeMint -- who opposed President Bush's attempts enact amnesty for illegal aliens -- said he expects Democrats to push the immigration issue. "I'm sure we're going to have that fight again," he said.

The reason they think young Republicans or any group that age for that matter is because their constiutents ARE stupid. I'd hazard to guess and probably be right when I say that most young Democrats can only name one politician - Obama. They don't know who their Vice President is, they don't know who the Speaker of the House is, who the Senate Majority Leader is and so on. Outside of NYC, they probably don't know much about Hillary Clinton, either.....
They are public educated (read brainwashed), self-absorbed, entitlement mentality morons who know more about American Idol than they do of their own country.
At 56 I am over the requisite age. But they invited me and I attended their meeting. I plan to support them in any way I can.

This, my friend, is a perfect description of the Obama constituency.
America cannot survive as intended with a significant percentage of its population fitting this description. These people have been engineered to be drones and slaves, they are just too painfully ignorant to realize it. Perhaps they will soon enough.

For the most part you are correct. I have found the knowledge of politics evades most of the under 40. But, they are now striving to get educated. Over the past several months I have had the opportunity to assist many in that education process.
I have had to explain what a democrat is and what a republican is. What an earmark is. What I find most enjoyable is deciphering the Constitution for these young people.
The eagerness to learn what they lack about our politcal system is very encouraging. Matter of fact I have two young fellows in their twenties who asked is they could come over today to learn more about what is going on and how they can get involved. They are eager to get involved in some grassroots activism. It is very encouraging when you see young people that are patriotic and know they should be doing something, want to do something to help save this country.
The under 40 crowd aren’t stupid, at least on the conservative side of the aisle, they have just been detached from the subject of politics. I’ll take my fair share of the blame for that as a parent of an under 40 person. We dropped the ball. We failed to educate our children because we, ourselves, became detached from our duties to keep our government in line and under control. And since we dropped the ball it is time we pick it back up and take our place as activists. We know how to do this. Many of us were activists in our youth. We must educate our youth and get them involved. We must explain the importance of always being involved in government. For we are the watchdogs, the keeper of the gate. And the under 40 crowd, if they are to live in a free republic, must be taught to be the watchdogs.
They want to be. They just need to be shown how.
I say the Pub party needs to hand it over to the young guns of the party. The older Republicans are using the same business model that they have had for the last 30 years. Obama cleaned our clock with the use of 21st century technology and he is expanding the use of it as I type.
We have a bunch of Congress Critters getting closer and closer to retirement and the only thing they care about is lining their pockets.

That’s because their clueless parents are supporting them, while these aging “children” are free to worship the Changemeister. These perpetual students ought to be thrown out into the real world to make their own living. It would be a whole new education for these brain-washed know-it-alls. Perhaps an economic depression in this country would have this positive side-effect.
Correction - the media cleaned our clock, using all available tools. zero is simply the beneficiary.

I think this is a powerful force waiting for the lethargic republicans to rouse themselves and get to work: many ambitious young people who don't care a whit about party but who can see who is taking their future away, and they don't like it.
As always, the premium is on leadership--and so far we don't have much developing.
Our early 20th century candidate didn’t help either.
The public schools took a major left turn in the 1960s when Humanist John Dewey and the teachers he trained at Columbia Teachers College began their put-down of objective truth and authoritative notions of good and evil.
In the 1970s, Sidney Simon's best-seller "Values Clarification" taught students to cast off their parents' values and make their own choices, often aided by Kinsey-trained sexperts determined to change our sexual mores.
By the 1980s, many radical anti-war activists of the 1960s had become tenured college professors, so teachers colleges and public schools opened their doors to "social justice" teaching.
Among these '60s radicals was Weather Undergrounder William Ayers, who escaped prosecution only because of government misconduct in collecting evidence against him, and then emerged as a Professor of Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Ayers developed quite a following as he taught resentment against America. In 2008 he was elected by his peers as vice president for curriculum studies of the American Education Research Association, the nation's largest organization of education professors and researchers.

If these young people whom you cite are truly perceptive, the only future they’d be able to see with Obama-ism is unemployment, mediocrity, and misery.
