Limbaugh Rallies Conservatives to Find 'Right Candidate' (Romney wins CPAC straw poll)
Fox News ^ | February 28, 2009

Rush Limbaugh was 15 minutes early to the stage, but no one was complaining Saturday evening in Washington, D.C., at the Conservative Political Action Conference.

Quite the contrary. On the conference's third and final day, the conservative talk radio host was the headliner, and the crowd greeted him with an immense ovation.

"Ladies and gentleman, this is my first ever address to the nation," Limbaugh joked, noting that FOX News and C-SPAN were broadcasting the speech live.

Limbaugh then spent his first 15 minutes giving an impassioned summary of what it means to be a conservative before turning the focus to the movement's recent electoral record.

"We can take this country back. All we need is to nominate the right candidate," he said.

The speech was the culmination of an event that featured often fiery speeches by some of top names of the conservative movement and the Republican party, including former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, former GOP presidential candidate Mike Huckabee and conservative commendator Ann Coulter.

I love his last line: you should care about how people live their lives, but once they get behind their door you have no right after that. Remember that.!

Absolutely brilliant.

Romney? That’s a good way to get a jump on losing the 2012 race.

Romney was behind the astronomical health care plan in MA that almost bankrupt the state.

According to the C-Span schedule, his presentation begins at 8:00 pm EST and lasts about 92 minutes.

I plan to watch it for the second time!

Just finished watching. Went a little long, but said things which needed to be said.

Rush may need to transition back to TV to overcome the “Fairness Doctrine” if it is restored to radio.

Thank God for Rush.

Limbaugh’s CPAC speech was the best political speech I have heard since Ronald Reagan!

That is why all liberals everywhere hate and despise Rush.

It is precisely because Rush speaks Reaganese!

Rush knows what conservatives need to do to win and how to defeat the morally bankrupt and lying indefensible liberal philosophy.

Rush looked like he might be falling back into some old habits. Still a better man than me or most of the people in attendance.

Rush is in the business of sending us forward.

Obama is in the business of destroying us.

Right now.... ummm, Sarah Palin?

We keep LOSING elections because we keep getting lame guys who are (to conservatives) simply ‘better than ______’, be it Hillary or Obama or whatever democrat facing them.
When the GOP gets rid of the list of ‘who’s turn is it now’ - when handing us a candidate, we might have a chance of winning again.
We need someone we can stand behind and who will stand with US. Not simply the better of two lame choices. We cannot win elections that way.

Even CNN had to carry it for the whole speech. Awesome and never fails the expectation. Unlike some people, he raises the expectations and does it better. That reflects the values of Americans. We as Americans, always dream for big things and achieve better than the dream

I often think that too but Rush says never, as he does more good where he is than running for office. And I agree. He is more of a King maker than a king.
