Limbaugh the Leader? Obama Chief of Staff Calls Talk Show Host a Barrier to Progress
FoxNews ^ | March 1, 2009 | FoxNews

President Obama's chief of staff said conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh is the de facto leader of the Republican Party, and suggested that Limbaugh's desire for the president's policies to fail is the uniform position of the GOP.

Chief of staff Rahm Emanuel said Limbaugh is the "intellectual force" of the GOP and Republicans now have to live with that choice.

"He is the voice and the intellectual force and energy behind the Republican Party. And he has been up front about what he views, and hasn't stepped back from that, which is he hopes for failure. He said it. And I compliment him for his honesty, but that's their philosophy that is enunciated by Rush Limbaugh. And I think that's the wrong philosophy for America," Emanuel said on CBS' "Face the Nation."

On Saturday, Limbaugh gave an hour-and-a-half speech to cap off the three-day Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, D.C. Limbaugh said it's fine for Republicans to criticize Obama's plans and Republicans must return to their core philosophies.

He added that Obama's plan won't restore prosperity and that's why he wants it to fail.

"Is that like Spartacus, but different?"

Yes. Obama may discover that it is a mistake to cross Christians.

during the 1991 Gulf War, Emanuel was a civilian volunteer in Israel, “rust-proofing brakes on an army base in northern Israel.” (Wikipedia, New Republic). This is peculiar on two counts. Here the U.S. goes to war with Iraq, but Emanuel, a U.S. citizen, volunteers not for his country, but for Israel.

after leaving the Clinton White House, he decided that he needed some accumulated wealth and “security” if he were to stay in politics. So he went to work for Bruce Wasserstein, a major Democratic donor and Wall Street financier.

“Over a 2 1/2-year period he helped broker deals-often using political connections-for Wasserstein Perella. According to congressional financial disclosures, he earned more than $18 million during that period. His deals included Unicom’s merger with Peco Energy and venture fund GTCR Golder Rauner’s purchase of SBC subsidiary SecurityLink. But friends say his compensation also benefited from two sales of the Wasserstein firm itself, first to Dresdner Bank and then to Allianz AG.” Again for a newcomer to haul in $18 million in two years is almost miraculous.

They then took this figure and called him unpatriotic on several talk shows thus in a stroke making the whole Republican Party unpatriotic.

Somebody needs to send them that hillary rant on patriotism.

On second thoughts, you are correct. If he fails as a parent, meaning that he thinks he has failed as a parent, his two young skullsful of mush will adopt an ideology opposite of his. So what we can hope for is that B Hussein Obama is an utter and complete failure in *everything* he does.

The problem with it is how many innocents he will destroy in the process. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

He will convert them to government dependents.Obama knows he will fail, and he intends to destroy America as we know it, in order to rebuild it in the Socialist Utopian image. He will have to use force ( ie fascism) to do that in America,Few people undertsnad this YET.

Why are the signs that Obama will use force? Just look at the tone that "Ram Manual" is using outr of Washington.

"Ram" publically stated on TV today that Rush was a barrier to progress.bama seeks to dehumanize Limbaugh, so that when they assassinate Rush via accidental death, people will just shrug and say "Darwin Award."

The attacks on Rush Limbaugh by a sitting president of the United States on a private citiazen are unprecedented

That indicates that fascism is well on the way.And they will assassinate Rush Limbaugh if they have to. That uis the measure of the Obama socialist resolve. Few people understand this yet. But if you study fascist history and its evolution in Europe rooted in liberal citizens who accepted it in time of crisis, then you can easily predict what comes next.

The signs are NOT good.

Is America ready to fight? Maybe?

Rush represents America preparing to fight Obama's coming totalitarian rule.As such Rush must be silenced by Obama.Rush is in deep, deep, personal danger. I hope he realizes this and protects himself. Many opponents of Hitler and Mussolini could not. Many died tragically.

I hope Rush is taking ALL necessary precautions.

We need him and others just like him to help us prepare for the upcoming battle which few even suspect is coming.

And we also neeed an emergency EIB network in case the feds pull the plug on Rush.

Would that it were so. Unfortunately, the Grand Old Suck-up Party is more concerned about getting invited to all of the really good cocktail parties around D.C..

“It isn’t actually “Rush’s Message” as much as it is Rush’s ability to articulate what most of us already know and believe.

He isn’t our brain as much as our voice.”

Well said.

What is sad, is that all our elected Republicans, and RNC chair don’t see how important it is to say things in a straighforward manner, in plain English as Rush does. No we don’t want communism and we want communist policies to fail, for the good of the country, to preserve our country and the freedoms that made it great.

At this point, you can probably forget about Jindal.

It’s NEVER racist when a DEMOCRAT does it, and if a Repub DARED to say about a black what they are saying about Jindal openly on TV and on the Internet, the cities would already have been burning FOR DAYS....

He’s a caricature now, whether we like it or not.

In 2006, he wrote a book entitled The Plan: Big Ideas for America. In the book he wrote, “We need to fortify the military’s ‘thin green line’ around the world by adding to the U.S. Special Forces and the Marines, and by expanding the U.S. army by 100,000 more troops.” (Obama has called for an increase of 92,000.) He also supported mandatory national service for everyone between the ages of 18 and 25. The book also called for the creation of a new domestic spying organization similar to England’s MI5.

In 2005 Emanuel voted to make the Patriot Act permanent. This year he helped craft a compromise on FISA that allowed the continuation of massive spying on all Americans and others by U.S. spy agencies. Obama also supported the FISA legislation.

Clinton appointed Emanuel to a seat on the board of directors of the quasi-governmental Freddie Mac. Yes, one of the corporations that got the country into the financial crisis in the first place was directed by Emanuel. The Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight accused the board of Freddie Mac of having “failed in its duty to follow up on matters brought to its attention.” According to a complaint filed by the Securities and Exchange Commission, Freddie Mac misreported profits by billions of dollars in order to deceive investors between the years 2000 and 2002. As a director, Emanuel was paid $31,060 in 2000 and $231,655 in 2001.

Also during Emanuel’s tenure Freddie Mac was involved in a scandal regarding campaign contributions and accounting irregularities. In 2006, Freddie Mac was fined $3.8 million by the Federal Election Commission to settle claims that it illegally contributed to congressional candidates during the time when Emanuel was on the board and running for Congress. In his run for the House in 2002, Emanuel received $25,000 in campaign contributions from Freddie Mac.

But we can be assured that Emanuel can deal with the financial industry just like the fox can guard the hen house. In the two-and-a-half years before he ran for Congress, Emanuel worked as an investment banker in Chicago earning more than $16 million. Evidently the financial industry loves him. According to the Center for Responsive Politics, during the 2008 election cycle, Emanuel was the House’s leading recipient of contributions “from hedge funds, private equity firms and the broader securities and investment industry.”

Yep. He doesn’t have a clue as to the office he holds, it’s purpose and powers. He thought he could shut Limbaugh up, and by extension all conservatives, with a finger wag.

More proof that Obama wants power above all is the proposed elimination of tax deductions for charities. He wants those in need to get it from the government and only the government. Sick.

We have to understand that these people are drug “culture” circles. We have to understand that by “progress” is really meant warfare and a type of civil war these homos cannot handle themselves.

Let us give them what they want. I’m not here for sex or for money, but something a bit more transcending all this mumbo jumbo.

Rham thinks he is so chivalrous trying to motivate his gullible nazi youth to their deaths. He does not even know what he is talking about. He just repeats code words like an apprentice sorcerer, not knowing what he is playing with and what they really mean.

How about Rham and his likes just commit suicide. I’m tired of their pesky whinings and match making and hate mongering and suicidal crying.

Very logical: We want Socialism/Communism to fail; Obama = Socialism/Communism; Therefore was want Obama to fail.

If one wishes Obama success then one wishes Socialism/Communism success.

Very logical indeed.

...He’s a caricature now, whether we like it or not.

I dunno. His words are pretty dang fantastic and they hit a nerve, head-on.

Liberals and commies ALWAYS try to take down their opponents by name calling, often calling their opponents names or accusing their opponents of MO's that are actually held by themselves...hillary always does this magnificently.

I don't think they are going to turn Jindal OR Palin into caricatures...they WANT TO...but we are here to STOP THEM.

The tyrannical socialist power crazed thugs known who used to be known as liberal progressives, and their media sycophants, ARE NOT going to win the day.

Clinton’s were amateurs comapred compared to the Chicago thugs.

I think the Clintons and the Obamas were about the same (like the Hatfields and McCoys).

The Clintons had the ARK. MAFIA, and the CHICAGO THUGS.

The Obamas have the ARK. MAFIA and the CHICAGO THUGS.

Still matched. Same crew, different captain.

However, the new team is rowing much faster, and in a slightly different direction.
