I love the fact that our beloved GWB will not criticize a sitting president. That’s class. As always.

They look YUMMY snugs! Our Joseph LOVES to make trifle, and enjoys coming up with different fruit combinations for them.

We had an "Iron Chef" competition at our Parish this afternoon. I was paired with our Pastor, Father Mike, and we won! The theme was 'March Madness', and we had to decorate a single layer cake. I crumb coated it, then started mixing some food coloring into some icing to create a basketball. I'd intended to put a final coat of icing on the cake, before putting the other stuff on it, but then Father Mike just started getting these cool ideas of how to decorate it, and by the time I'd colored that little bit of icing, he'd already started putting goodies on top of the cake!

It turned out really cute, but we were up against some stiff competition. The other team was the Director of Religious Education, and another woman from the Parish. They cut their cake layer open, and put fruit and whipped cream and other goodies inside it, put the top back on it, and since it was slightly domed, covered it with orange frosting, toasted coconut, and created 'laceing' with melted chocolate, and it looked for all the world like a basketball! I really thought they were going to win! Both cakes were vey tasty, though. ;o)

It was a Pampered Chef fundraiser that was to benefit the Parish, and we all had a really fun time. My hubby forgot our camera, so the consultant said she'd e-mail me a picture of the cake. I'll post it when I get it.

Sounds like fun. A few years ago on comic relief day in the UK I did some small fairy cakes I think you call them cup cakes in the States and put water icing on and half a cherry to represent the red nose the symbol of comic relief.

Today dad had trifle for desert and the main meal was roast lamb here is about to eat it.

Oh snugs....what joy you bring to me sharing this photo! I’m sooooo glad your Dad is doing well. THIS is how I pictured him...but with a blanket over his knees, though. I’m smiling because I’m so happy for you two. He’s home and more himself. What a wonderful gift. May God Bless you both. THANK you for the picture.

BUGERA SHAKES HANDS WITH FORMER PRESIDENT GEORGE W BUSH
George Bowditch
The Southwest Booster

Swift Current resident Tim Bugera did not expect to shake the hand of the 43rd President of the United States during a recent luncheon in Calgary featuring George W. Bush.

Bugera, a Swift Current Businessman and City Council member, has long been an admirer of George Bush and he jumped at the opportunity to attend a Calgary Chamber of Commerce sponsored luncheon where the former president was speaking.

“The highlight of the whole trip was I got to shake Bush’s hand and meet him. He just kind of mingled a bit and I didn’t even see him coming... he is just standing there beside me. I was actually quite taken back by it.”

. . . “George W. Bush was definitely worth the $400. He is a very funny man; lots of good humour in him. He started his talk by saying that the biggest difference since leaving the White House was a few days after he left office and he went to the ranch, and he ran to his car and jumped in the back seat and it didn’t go anywhere.”
