John Bolton on 'The Coming War on American Sovereignty'
Family Security Matters ^ | Feb. 27, 2009 | Pam Meister

Speaking to a packed room at the opening day of CPAC in Washington D.C. yesterday, former UN Ambassador John Bolton warned convention attendees of something he believes "goes to the heart of the Obama administration" and that will affect not only us but our children and grandchildren. No, not the stimulus bill (although that’s a good guess) - it's what he termed "the coming war on American sovereignty."

The problem, he said, is that liberals believe differences in policies that affect Americans shouldn't be debated here at home, but on the international stage - and we can expect it to take a variety of guises, from global warming to the Law of the Sea Treaty to arms control. In other words, look for American policy to conform to so-called international standards and international law.

Some of the policies that will make us weaker are already under way, said Bolton, including the cut in defense spending.

In conclusion, Bolton said the Obama administration "doesn't understand so much of what we need to do to protect American security. I think it's clear that our national security is at risk under this administration. I think it's a dangerous time in the United States."

I hate to say this here.
But you “Pollyannas” assume that there will be honest, fair elections in 2010 and 2012.
There will never be honest elections, ever, while Rahm Emanuel
is in control of the census, and “B-Ho” is the “Present-in Chief”.
Sorry.

It’s already being done.
The financial elites in this country who don’t have to tell the little people (us tax payers) where they spent the billions in TARP funds, have been pushing globalism in the name of free trade for years.

It’s called “follow the money”, American sovereignty be damned.

Remember the “buy American” push from a few years ago? All the while what you bought from the multinational “American” companies contained parts, service and financing from countries all over the world.

I believe in American exceptionalism. However, I also believe that we, through the actions of our government and multinational American born corporations, are in serious danger of becoming average at best.
The void then created by America no longer being as Reagan said; “that shining city on a hill” will be the catalyst for tyranny and suffering.

We can change this by voting with our conscience and not our comfort, using both the ballot and the wallet.

Think before you buy.

Who are you supporting?

rant/off

John Bolton for President in 2012.

President of what? Unlikely by 2012, or even 2010 at this rate, that a sovereign and democratic Republic of the USA will be around to host an election.

You make a good point (and won't get an argument from me).

“Bolton and I would add Rush!”

I agree. At this time when our great country is being sabotaged from within, it is amazing to me that so many people in government and the MSM just go along. Patriots like Rush and John Bolton are the among the few to speak the truth in these difficult times.

John Bolton is right. I wish he would run for office. He doesn’t take any bs off of anyone!

Wouldn’t that be nice! Another adult in the White House. I think he’d do a good job.

Clueless or Planned?

Both: They planned to make the rest of the world love us again by surrending as much of our sovereignty and perogatives to the UN as possible. They're clueless about what the net outcome of that will actually be.

The only chance we have is to find the few conservative Democrats and get them to make trouble for Obama.

Can they be found?

That’s exactly what I posted the other day. Someone was lamenting the growth of the deficit and I chimed in with my concern for our sovereignty. There are several dimensions it is eroding - a major part being the Fed trying to increase our money supply. Are Americans going to buy treasuries? No...

Pretty tough to win a war when your commander in chief sides with the enemy.

You got that right.

Instead of praying for the Marxist Usurper as some faithful here have done, why not pray for these two men and others like them to much success in telling the truth about the coup from within our own government? God knows we won't have a country in two years if the Marxist continues to assault us, the little people, on all sides as he has done in just his first month in office. Pray that Rush and Bolton and other patriots are not silenced. Do everything you can to resist this unholy take-over of our beautiful country. If we don't, we won't have it much longer. As for waiting to change the nature of Congress in 2010, we may not have elections, as someone has pointed out. They will be hijacked by Acorn and voter fraud so massive it will make your head spin.

We cleaned up carter’s mess in 2 years. This is an order of magnitude different- maybe 20 or 200 years.

I think it’s a dangerous time in the United States.” He doesn’t believe we’ve reached the “tipping point” that so many people are talking about today regarding America, but we must make sure we avoid the decades of decline that Britain endured after World War II.

Agreed, Mr. Bolton. It's not the tipping point that so many are hoping for, one way and another.

Well... an optimist believes this is the best of all worlds; a pessimist fears this is true.

Rahm Emmanual is certainly no God. I don't fear him.

Yep.

Cap & Trade will kill what remains of our economy. It will dramatically increase the fixed, overhead costs to every business and family. Controlling carbon is a central planner’s dream - control carbon, control our lives.

Thanks for that perspective (Carter). Things looked extremely dismal then, unfixable as I recall.
