And I thought their last cover was pushing the envelope.

The cover of the rag is in Arabic, too.

why the West needs to adopt a more sophisticated strategy toward Radical Islam.

The fact that he used the word "toward", rather than the word "against" is telling.

Same old moral relativism of the Left. No standards, everything is negotiable/flexible, blah, blah, blah.

The attitude is, they're going to do it (Fill in this word) so we may as well (Educate/Negotiate/Accept/Support/Change our own behaviors and beliefs) with them or towards them.

Hard to build any Society or Culture on such quicksand.

He writes a regular column for Newsweek, which also appears in Newsweek International and fortnightly in the Washington Post. He is the author of several books, including The Future of Freedom, which was a New York Times bestseller and has been translated into 20 languages. His new book, The Post American World, was published in May 2008 and became an instant best-seller.

Zakaria has won several awards for his columns and cover-essays, in particular for his October 2001 Newsweek cover story, “Why They Hate Us.” In 1999, he was named “one of the 21 most important people of the 21st Century” by Esquire magazine. In 2007, he was named one of the 100 leading public intellectuals in the world by Foreign Policy and Prospect magazines. He has received honorary degrees from many universities. He serves on the board of Yale University, The Council on Foreign Relations, The Trilateral Commission, and Shakespeare and Company.

Newsweak doesn't even want to live with passive Christianity (if people publicly ID themselves as Christians in celebration).

Has NEWSWEAK reported on the following which occur all over America but are
only reported when they occur in TV stations (and then barely covered).

Another beheading-slaughter of American women simply ignored by NOW, Newsweek, and the LSM (Left Stream Media).

It makes me also wonder why Fox hasn’t touched that beheading or any of the other horrific honor killings in the US and Canada, (way too many in Europe, anyway).

One can understand the CNN/MSNBC crowd, but why has Fox turned tail?

I think Fox has covered it - I've heard it reported there although you are right - It has not gotten the front page type coverage it should.

Wonder why Greta or Nancy Grace haven't gotten on it with their usual 24/7 mode of repetitive reporting. Oh wait, their coverage only extends to loss of cute, white children who have nut-case mothers or Trailer trash White relatives. Sorry.

They believe they will be killed last, and like traitors
they have inflicted this catastrophe on America.

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious.
But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly.
But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself.
For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men.
He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist.
A murderer is less to be feared."

Yep. A deceiver leads the nation of lemmings over the cliff.

He made it clear that we have no right or place being number one in this world. We have to scale back. Not because we are denying others the good life, we just have it too good ourselves.

The New Left has always loathed the American way. The American Dream died last election.

Welcome to the postmodern USSA.

Oh no, these are negotiable as well. You are given choices about when you can have an abortion, where you can have it and who will pay for it - Just a matter of negotiation.

As far as guns are concerned, they'll often pay you to turn them in as opposed to outright arrest for possession - Again, a nicely packaged set of choices/negotiations.

>>24/7 mode of repetitive reporting.

Really don’t care for that saturation coverage of what are often tawdry, sleazy and criminally savage cases, but if that’s what you want, then the Houston killings fit the bill.

Two American girls killed (dunno if they were beheaded), one had to be alive to witness the other’s death, American mom, Egyptian father....the murderer.....and deathly silence apart from JihadWatch.

Talk about tailor made for TruTv or Nancy “facelifted whackjob with oh so Little” Grace.

Same old moral relativism of the Left.

Spot on. This headline could have been written 25 years ago by Newsweek, just change "Radical Islam" to "Soviet style socialism" and you have Newsweek's official position on US Soviet relations: you can't beat them so give concessions and hope for the best. I prefer what we did: challenge them and beat them.

Well, in the 1930’s we had people writing that fascism was a fact of life.

In the 1950’s, we had people writing that communism was a fact of life.

So what’s new? People will always try to rationalize evil institutions.

why the West needs to adopt a more sophisticated strategy toward Radical Islam.

The fact that he used the word "toward", rather than the word "against" is telling.
