Does anyone else note the irony here?

Pakistan attack on cricket convoy

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/7920260.stm

Several members of the Sri Lankan cricket team have been injured after gunmen fired on a convoy carrying cricketers in Pakistani city of Lahore.

The convoy was carrying Pakistani and Sri Lankan cricketers to a ground, which is hosting a Test match between the two sides.

Reports quoting Sri Lankan authorities say at least two Sri Lankan players were seriously injured in the incident.

Unconfirmed reports say some policemen had been killed by the shooting.

The incident happened on the road from the teams’ hotel to the Gadaffi stadium, where a Test match is being held.

“It appears that our team bus was targeted on the way to the match. It appears that four of our cricketers have been injured and taken to the hospital,” a Sri Lankan cricket official told an Indian TV channel from Colombo.

At the rate they are going, and being encouraged by Liberals everywhere, they will soon be running everything too.

Yes-it’s named after our dear friend from Libya-for all his help to the Pakis in the 70s, including bankrolling their nukes.

It’s the Paki way of saying thank you-Vajpayee got Kargil for opening up in 1999, Manmohan got Mumbai for all his initiatives.

Sukhoi, they interpret talks as a sign of our weakness. Thus they are emboldened to attack. Though they may think twice about attacking when the BJP is in power, they definitely welcome the likes of Antulay, Mulayam Singh, Lalloo and Arjun Singh.

Unfortunately, the BJP is also in self-destruct mode. Will any of the North Indian BJP satraps allow Modi to become PM? I doubt it. And they have no other leader with a Pan-Indian appeal.

I don’t know how much of a difference Modi would make even if he were PM-the nature of coalition politics (as is evident in recent days) just won’t do it. And Modi was in control of Gujarat, which is unique among Indian states-no-nonsense, pro-business population. Anyway that’s something else.

What I expect is a retaliatory strike-either during the upcoming IPL competition or any big foreign tour of India. I would be seriously surprised if it doesn’t happen.

I travel throughout India, and though I meet mainly business people - from big industrialists to self-employed taxi-drivers and small shop-keepers, everyone seems to want someone to provide strong leadership, whether Modi or someone else. With the image of personal incorruptibility that Modi has, he is the most preferred. And his anti-jihad pronouncements are making more and more people listen.

You're right about the IPL or big foreign tour attacks.:( They can't bear India getting any positive attention.

Huh. I just watched “Anthony Bourdain-No Reservations” Sri-Lanka. They showed a buncha kids playing cricket in one of the scenes. God bless the players.

Obviously this attack is due to Sri Lanka’s massive invasion and illegal occupation of Iraq!

A troop of renegade Boy Scouts, frustrated by a rain-soaked weekend camp-out?!

Still no?

Wellllll...maybe, ummmm...

The regional ladies’ “Red Hat Society” chapter, juiced up on mimosas?

Nope.

Siiiiighhh!

Guess it could have been some male practitioners of the P.hony R.eligion O.f P.eace {P.R.O.P.}, aged 19 to 45...

{I’m SO disappointed!}/S
