SAN DIEGO, CA - A study conducted by the Food and Drug Administration and Howyflyl University reveals that Quaaludes have proven to be an effective treatment for adult ADHD, and could one day wipe out the dreaded disease. The drug, once popular as a recreational barbiturate in the 1970's, is now being hailed as the new 'Ritalin for Adults', and could be on the over-the-counter market within weeks.

It sounds reasonable, but I found that if you don’t have enough cocaine to go with it, the result can be a dangerous chemical imbalance. All of it, though, is contra-indicated by my heart medicines anyway.

I was 18,19 in the late 70’s and I can not imagine this working unless you want a large group of people unable to walk, drive, or operate heavy machiney. They would be more in control dead drunk and doing those things than with these,IMHO!

Is there now such a shortage of drunk drivers that we need to beef up the supply of inebriated motorists with these people?

“Ahhh - The new opiate of the masses”
These used to be passed out pretty freely to women by the older doctors.
During my marriage, my wife that was in her teens and then her early twenties always got whatever she wanted as far as Quaaludes and Valium even though we moved a lot during our marriage.
I never even knew why she needed them but I did learn that a huge percent of American women were moving through society stoned on legal prescriptions during those days.
That is why in the late sixties the kids could just look in people’s medicine cabinets for the highest quality drugs.

Heroin syrup was originally marketed by Bayer as a cough suppressant, it worked quite well by all accounts ,, they were embarrassed to find out it was addictive.

What a drag it is getting old
Kids are different today,
I hear evry mother say
Mother needs something today to calm her down
And though shes not really ill
Theres a little yellow pill
She goes running for the shelter of a mothers little helper
And it helps her on her way, gets her through her busy day
Things are different today,
I hear evry mother say
Cooking fresh food for a husbands just a drag
So she buys an instant cake and she burns her frozen steak
And goes running for the shelter of a mothers little helper
And two help her on her way, get her through her busy day

“Ah yes , the seventies, ...peace, free love, turn on, tune in, drop out.”
My reference to the medicine cabinets of the adults of the 60s was about how stoned the women of all age groups were, on prescription drugs that came to be known as some of the best dope ever made, Quaalude, Black Mollies, Valium, etc.
They were on corporate made speed and downers that doctors prescribed like candy to female patients.
