Reid: Senate GOP wants Obama to fail By: Alex Isenstadt March 3, 2009 02:53 PM EST

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid put it in no uncertain terms today: Senate Republicans want Barack Obama to fail.

“It’s very clear they’ve made a decision they want President Obama to fail,” Reid told reporters, listing of a series of Obama proposals Republicans have lined up against, including the $410 billion omnibus spending package before the Senate this week.

When asked to name specific Senate Republicans who wanted Obama to fail, Reid would only say a “number of Republicans.”

“It’s very clear,” Reid said. “Some have said so, others have acted accordingly.”

They weren't just wanting Bush to fail they were proclaiming his failure! The war is lost etc. etc.

I think that we need a bumper sticker that says that.

WE WANT OBAMA TO FAIL, because we want America to succeed.

....of course I want that clown to fail and fail quickly before he hurts the country even more.

....folks, are you starting to understand why the Klan took hold in the South during Reconstruction?....how an alliance of crooked white opportunists and Negro fool politicians began to systematically destroy and loot what ever they touched?....and how eventually Southerners decided to take back their land.

Saying you want Obama to fail is like saying you want a thug who intends to invade your home rob you blind and enslave your children to fail.

I don’t see the problem.

“It’s very clear they’ve made a decision they want President Obama to fail,” Reid told reporters

Umm...yeah. Opposing a president whose policies you believe to be wrong is the duty of a responsible Senator. Whatever happened to "dissent is the highest form of patriotism"?

They damn well BETTER be working for his policies to fail. Otherwise they might as well pass a law renaming our country to USSA.

That is exactly right and any red blooded American who isn't doing all he or she can to insure the failure of his policies is complicit in all that follows!

I support the Presidency, but not the President.

Progression toward Marxism is not my measure of success, nor does it allow ANY room for bipartisanship.

But of course, I will cheer on any and all that want Obama to fail, and why not Harry you idiot. Harry go have some more kool-aid or some communist cookies.

Of course the Senate GOP wants socialism and anti-capitalism to fail. If they did not want Obama’s revolution to fail they would become RINOs like Collins, Snowe and Spector.

If the Pubbies can’t effectively argue their ideology, the conservative philosophy

You presume that the GOP is conservative. I think it is easy to see otherwise, after having all 3 Houses from 2000 to 2006, and seeing the many, many RINO's disavow all conservative ideas since 2006, etc.

The Democrats want to make it look like capitalism has failed, so they will have a good pretext for ushering in full-bodied socialist collectivism. And so far, they’re doing a great job killing the economy! They’re doing such a good job, there’s no need or reason to “hope” that they fail to save the economy: Their failure is guaranteed by their own actions, which have either been excruciatingly stupid, or else diabolically clever!

They have not silenced and crushed all opposition.

They will whine until they have.
