President Obama says he wants to be president of all the people. But some groups are urging him to make an exception for the Boy Scouts of America.
Critics of the Scouts who are outraged that the group is allowed to exclude gays and atheists while receiving federal funding are urging Obama to reject the group's honorary presidency, a designation bestowed on every U.S. president since William Howard Taft in 1910.

They made slick willy honorary president of the BSA during his term. I sent my eagle award, plaque, merit badge sash and the flag I carried as a crew leader at Philmont in 1974 back to the national office. I got a nice letter from the CEO of SW Bell (CEO of the BSA)returning my stuff. I sent it back and said no thanks.......The BSA is not what it used to be.F’em....red

My Eagle Scout Board of Review was supposed to be held on 9/11/01, but was postponed.
Prior to that, I was a Life Scout for 4 1/2 years before attaining the rank of Eagle. My dad was (and still is) the one who would request congratulatory letters from presidents, and he likes to joke that I waited to become Eagle after Clinton was out of office.
Anyway, as I mentioned, my dad is the one who requests the letters, and it’s such a stark contrast among the presidents.
The Bushes ALWAYS send a letter. So did Ford, and his was always the best (he was an Eagle).
Clinton sent letters while he was in office, but after Jan 20, 2001, they stopped coming. My dad is polite and always asks “do you want me to request one from Bill Clinton? He hasnt responded in years, but I’ll request if you like.” That answer is usually a “no.”
And Carter? Never even a reply. I expect the same from Obama. Actually, I expect nobody will even request one from Obie.
Sounds like they’re ready to “out” him should he not do as they direct.
I never understand all this stuff. I understand the politically correct crowd hates the Scuots because of the ban on homosexual scout leaders. It’s like there’s no perspective or balance or nuance in this world anymore. Even if you are big on gay marriage, why do we have to destory the boy scouts because they aren’t on board with the gay agenda? Can’t you see all the good that the Scouts do, even if you support all the gay pressure groups?
It’s like we live in a black/white world. If an organization or individual doesn’t follow the politically correct agenda right down the line, if they don’t swallow every bit of the liberal line, then that organization or individual is targeted. It doesn’t seem to matter what benefit they are to society; in the PC world, the Boy Scouts are the enemy.

248 million did not vote for Obama, excluding underage population counts. They are nobody to Obama. Obama himself excludes the other 200 million.

A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent.
Personally I think they do a lot of good too, but if they're excluding people based on whatever arbitrary criteria they decide then they really shouldn't be getting taxpayer dollars to operate, let their membership support it fully.

No kidding. I just learn recently, to my horror, that the Philadelphia Council that was being blackmailed into going "gay" or lose the use of the public building (for which a perpetual lease was in effect) caved on the issue. My heart sank. Maybe this is just the isolated action of an individual council beaten down until it didn't know how to fight anymore - but Scouting should be tougher than this.
That was then; this is now. The exponential matastasization of a coarsening, Godless society and government corruption will soon turn this reasonable mindset around.
What federal funding would that be? I'm not aware that the BSA gets federal funding.

Just saw a ticker a while ago on FOX which said the Pres did indeed refuse to accept the title of honorary pres of the Boy Scouts of America because of the BSA excludes atheists and homosexuals. The end is near.
There is nothing arbitrary about excluding homosexuals from the Scouts. The Boy Scouts are protecting children, as they should.
