The biggest mistake ever was no term limits in Congress.. Fat chance of that ever being changed.

Our guys "reach across the aisles" to pass bills that Democrats want. Their guys pass the bills the Democrats want and do so using every divisive political mechanism they can--rubbing the Republicans' noses in it.
We have two political parties in this country--the Evil Party and the Stupid Party.

The GOP had its chance to play rough and it chose powderpuff tactics so as not to appear mean.
Excatly. Things would be much different today if we had actual men leading the GOP for the past 20 years instead of the current crop of fairies.

‘Pelosi and Reed will use this tactic to push through gun control and defense cuts.’
I believe it was Jefferson whom stated that the beauty of the 2nd Ammendment was that when it was put to the test, that was when the nation would preserve this right through force.

Well, we need to really hurry, from my observation. The zero is draining our country dry....

Exactly. I expect 90% of the damage to have occured before summer.

from who? If selling carbon permits are being projected as government revenue, then from the government.

Their failure is guaranteed by their own actions, which have either been excruciatingly stupid, or else diabolically clever!
I go back and forth on which I think they are.
One thing good about their going full speed ahead on implementing socialism is that many who voted for the Dems will balk. Stupid as they are, it's not what they expected to happen, IMO. I hope TPTB keep going just as they are and 2010 should have the Republicans taking over Congress again. The only questions is will it be a conservative group or yet another bunch of RINOs?

as I was snottily pointing out a month ago to those who were concerned about keeping a filibuster proof minority
Guess we should've listened. It was probably your 'snottiness' that put us off ;)

Calling all Galt strikers - the day we walk off the job may be closer than we think.
I've done some accounting these past few weeks. I think hubby and I can retire early and go live in our cabin in the mountains. It would be tight financially, but quite enjoyable in every other way. Why work and slave just to support policies that destroy the country? And they'll just steal what we earn anyway.

Your July 4th time frame sounds good. The short notice for the tea parties was the only drawback to that plan. Time for planning ahead and getting the word out to get large crowds is a good idea.
How about keeping an ongoing thread about this?

I think that “unprecedented power grab” is a tagline we’ll see routinely in BO’s administration. Maybe the country will wake up, maybe not.

Some men are perfectly happy to have government control every aspect of their lives. This is so true.
On another political forum (whose membership is from all parts of the political spectrum), there is a member whose tagline reads: "If most people didn't act like children, they wouldn't need a nanny state." This seems to sum up the contempt that these people have for the rest of us: We are "like children," and therefore in need of a nanny--or, lacking a real one, then a nanny state.

I always knew those jerks would push the envelope while the GOP has been shielding the rats from their sleazy scandals. They blew it.

I wanna hear talk about the stinkin cooling saucer of the Senate process again! Remember that one? Gang of 14 took the nuke option off the table & the GOP never seems like they want to govern from a core set of principles they claim to represent. ARG!!!
We are sooo screwed. Pray for our once great nation. She needs to rediscover the difference between statesmen & politicians.
