Campus event designed to promote Thursday night rally.
Enclosed in a 3-foot-by-3-foot chain-link cage, members of a University of Colorado student group made their case Tuesday that former professor Ward Churchill wasnt fired for plagiarism, but, rather, for saying the wrong things about 9/11.
CU officials reiterated Tuesday that Churchill was fired solely for academic misconduct.
The event was staged to promote Thursday nights pro-Churchill rally at the Glenn Miller Ballroom, which will take place four days before the ex-professors lawsuit against CU goes to trial in Denver.
CU spokesman Bronson Hilliard said the students rally did not provide an accurate portrayal of the universitys reasons for firing Churchill in 2007.
Its not free speech thats in a cage its plagiarism and academic misconduct, Hilliard said, emphasizing that Churchill was fired only after an investigation by 25 tenured faculty members found instances of willful and repeated academic misconduct in Churchills work.
CU officially ruled that Churchills 9/11 essay and comments are protected by the First Amendment, Hilliard said. There has never been an attempt to stifle Ward Churchills free speech the issue has always been academic misconduct.
The student groups members also handed out fliers for Thursday nights Forbidden Education and the Rise of Neo-MacCarthyism event, at which controversial Weather Underground co-founder Bill Ayers will speak alongside Churchill.

...trying to imagine what “somethuing better” would look like...
That 3’ X 3’ cage is where Churchill belongs, for a long time. I voted, have you? :)
I sure those little brownshirts and their “professors” would take their usual childlike delight in forbidding Ann Coulter to speak there, and would also probably insist that Rush be silenced.
Put both Ward Churchill and Billy Bomber Ayres in the cage and lose the key!
FREEP THIS POLL ***PING!*** FRmail me if you want to be added or removed from the Fearless Poll-Freeping Freepers Ping list. And be sure to ping me to any polls that need Freepin', if I miss them. (looks like a medium volume list) (gordongekko909, founder of the pinglist, stays on the list until his ghost signs up for the list)
hasn’t that charleton been shown the door yet
Yes. Thanks for voting.
Good for us so far.

A.K.A. “Boulder Dementia Syndrome” persons.
His taxpayer pay checks have stopped.
Now , he has his attorney back for some more taxpayer money.
I agree with Ann Coulter. I believe the voting age should be raised to 40.
If he had to stand on his real achievements or contributions he would be nothing and I most certainly would not be typing about his miserable being. When you look at it this way it is not surprising that he would do what he does. To do otherwise would mean he would starve and assume his well deserved and warranted invisibility for Pete's Sake!

"Why did it take a bunch of Arabs to do what you all should have done a long time ago?"
August, 2003: Ward Churchill Caught On Tape Advocating Terrorism [vs Fellow Americans]

Question from audience:
You mentioned a little bit ago, "Why did it take a bunch of Arabs to do what you all should have done a long time ago," that's my question.
Churchill: I'm gonna repeat that, tell me if I got that right: Why shouldn't we do something and how do you you move so they don't see you coming.
As to the first part, not a reason in the world that I could see. I can't find a single reason that you shouldn't in a principled way there may be some practical considerations, such as do you know how (laughter from audience)
you know, often these things are processes. It's not just an impulse. And certainly it's not just an event.
And the simple answer, although it probably should be more complicated, but I'm not being flip and giving the simple answer, is:
You carry the weapon. That's how they don't see it coming. You're the one...
They talk about "color blind or blind to your color." You said it yourself.
You don't send the Black Liberation Army into Wall Street to conduct an action.
You don't send the American Indian Movement into downtown Seattle to conduct an action.
Who do you send? You. Your beard shaved, your hair cut close, and wearing a banker's suit.
There's probably a whole lot more to it, you know that. But there's where you start. .."

Here is a 4 minute video from 2006 in which Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn are asked if Ward Churchill in the late 1960s, as he claims, taught the Weathermen bomb making techniques. Ayers says with a sneaky grin: "memory is a real MF-er".
Both were and are still revolutionary communist/terrorists. See my FR Home page for the details.
At the Glenn Miller ballroom? Please change the name before this sacrilege occurs. Glenn Miller died for his country, for cripes sake. These scumbags would piss on his grave if there was one toke in it for them. As for Ward Churchill — there are no words vile enough to decribe him.
that Barack Obama was really a monkey playing with himself.
Yes, and be limited to homeowners or other real property owners.
