MOSCOW — If you're inclined to believe Igor Panarin, and the Kremlin wouldn't mind if you did, then President Barack Obama will order martial law this year, the U.S. will split into six rump-states before 2011, and Russia and China will become the backbones of a new world order.
Panarin might be easy to ignore but for the fact that he is a dean at the Foreign Ministry's school for future diplomats and a regular on Russia's state-guided TV channels. And his predictions fit into the anti-American story line of the Kremlin leadership.

This seemed insane when I first read about this guy’s views six months or so ago.
Now, it doesn’t seem so crazy...

At this point, it does not to me either.
But then again, I think this guy has been at this as long as some of the prognosticators of the Apocalypse.
I guess I’m more interested in how and where the US may be re-Constituted.

TX, OK, AL, MS, GA and I guess we would take LA for the sake of being contiguous....sounds like a good rump state to me.

This is quite possible because the rulers have always used the concept of dividing collectivities in order to better control them as was most notably seen in Yugoslavia & they are more openly then ever before attempting to realign the world in what they call a New World Order model based on the concept of division with the goal of a new unification under their more overt control.
I understand the Perfessor is a former KGB man. Makes sense, since the present Russian government is a criminal conspiracy. Obama will ignore this, of course, in his efforts to build bridges to former Reds.

I was kind of hooked on the TV show Jericho when it was on. What scares me is now I wonder how close we might be to life imitating art.

Absolutely correct.
However, note that he does not mention abortion as an indicator of social and moral decline. To do so would be to implicate Russia, also. Russian abortion figures are even more horrific than America's. I read somewhere that one in three pregnancies in Russia ends in abortion. Not sure if that figure is correct. Anybody know for sure? It is high, however.
So Panarin may well be right about the collapse of the US but he is smoking crack if he thinks Russia will take its place. The US, Russia, and China are all going to get whacked.
I believe the long term beneficiaries of this will be Islam. This is the time of Islam. It is already colonizing western Europe demographically, and the weakening of the world's strong economies will further embolden it. Stand by for mucho bloodshed.
In La. we have the oil and gas of Texas plus we have the nukes. I think we will be calling the shots.
He doesn’t want to go to martial law because when he does, the will be anarchy and lawlessness no military can control.
