“Counterproductive?” No. It was friggin imbecilic! He will neither bend down, nor over, like the typical republican senators you White House brownshirts are so used to dealing with. Why in the world attack someone with so many devoted fans...and fans for good reason, not because of MSM fawning and cheerleading! Rush just stuck it directly in the ears of Hussein and his minions by offering the debate challenge. And the White House knows it.

Radio listeners in New York City might remember a mild dispute between Howard Stern and David Letterman about ten years ago . . . over some of the content of Stern's radio show (every now and then Stern would have a caller who could do a amazing, dead-on imitation of Letterman on the air. Knowing Howard Stern, you can imagine how these on-air "interviews" went.
Letterman's agent contacted Stern to complain about it.
Stern announced on the air that he would have the guy make daily appearances on his show -- and even more outrageous "interviews" -- if the agent ever complained about it again.
That was the last anyone heard from Letterman's agent on that one.

No matter who it is, if you're conservative, they're going to attack you. I'm hearing some people say we should throw Palin overboard, cause she's damaged goods. Same thing on Jindel. BS! They've been trying to sink Limbaugh for twenty years, and the ONLY reason it hasn't worked is because Limbaugh doesn't tuck his tail between his legs and run off. He fights, and when you stand up to a bully, they back down. When you start apologizing, they smell blood in the water and finish you off.
REPUBLICANS! The Democrats hate you because you exist. They want you discredited and gone. You will NEVER be nice enough for them to like you. Either stand and fight or get out of the way and let somebody who will go after it.
