Banks are on the brink, the stock market is in a torpor, and one of today’s hottest topics at the daily White House briefing was Rush Limbaugh, whom Democrats are trying to hang around the neck of the Republican party.
Robert Gibbs, press secretary for President Barack Obama, was asked if the White House had been complicit in the maneuver — and was not that hypocritical when considering Obama’s emphasis on getting past partisan sniping?

Well of course it’s counterproductive. Rush knew that before it started.
But the Saul Alinskyites are operating from the handbook that got them there.
They thought this routine of crushing any voice of opposition would result in intimidation. Instead its made their voices stronger.
They want out of the chess match. Too late. Zero is going down. Even a Rat like Cramer has come out and absolutely pulverized Zero not two months in.
The writing is on the wall. Zero = fail. Watch. And it isn’t going to be pretty.
Stay with the facts. And scathing sarcasm. You will see daggers or blank looks in their eyes.
Just laugh and enjoy. You will not get a good debate anytime soon.
It would have worked if the media coordinated with Zero against someone who has an inability to reach the public in numbers.
Rush does not suffer from that problem. LOL. So he can take on Zero and the Saul Alinskites head on.
And he did. Much to their chagrin.

How great would it be for Rush to get in a room with The Kenyan and ask him “So Mr. President, once and for all, where the f is your birth certificate?”

I guess I never contemplated that there would actually be a debate. I think O will back off for now, and only bring up Rush when talking to friendly crowds....which is why I thought of his ‘finger’ treatment....he’ll be implying ‘I took care of Limbaugh’ etc, and only try to use Rush as a bogeyman in front of his supporters, who don’t know any better....but I’d love to see Rush’s response if O tried this.

Considering His Largessee Zero’s “handling” of Rush and his rebuff at the hands of Russia’s President, I’d say he’s Zero for 2 in the diplomacy area!
You would think would all the really important issues and problems this country is facing, that the White House would not have time to spend on a Radio talk personality.
You nailed it. Rush and his sponsors must be laughing all the way to the bank. Every day that Obama talks about Rush he adds more and more listeners. Rush is increasing his audience. He's smart enough to keep tweaking Obama and his lackies and keep the fight going to keep his name out there.
Kinda reminds me of that classic warning, that politicians shouldn’t pick fights with someone who buys ink by the barrel!
Rush set him up, plain and clear. Now he’s laughing all the way to the bank, and has in a sense, immunized himself against any “fairness” doctrine. Now such a move would be clearly seen as retaliation against Rush.
Obama is a Harvard lawyer? Really? And he still walked into such an easily avoided trap? I can’t imagine him in a courtroom.
I don’t know why Obama just doesn’t put a sign on his back that says “Kick Me Rush”
