Dems Billboard to Rush
democrat party ^ | March 5, 2009

Posted on 03/05/2009 10:22:59 AM PST by reagandemocrat

I'm Jen O'Malley Dillon, the new Executive Director of the Democratic National Committee.

If you're anything like me, then you've had the urge to talk back to a right-wing talk radio host more than a few times. Now you can.

Rush Limbaugh has made waves lately about his desire to see President Obama fail. And he's unapologetic, even though Americans voted in November for the very kind of change the President is bringing to Washington. As even Limbaugh must know, if the President fails, America fails.

Incredibly, Republican leaders have yet to condemn Limbaugh for his destructive comments. In fact, Republicans like Congressman Eric Cantor, a leader in the House, have adopted the Limbaugh strategy, telling the Washington Post recently that their strategy on the President's jobs plan was "just saying no."

The only Republican leader to challenge Limbaugh -- the chairman of the Republican National Committee -- even called Rush to apologize just a few days later.

But we have no apologies for Rush, just a message. We need you to come up with a slogan, in ten words or less, that we'll put on a billboard where he can't miss it -- in his hometown of West Palm Beach, Florida.

Can you help us come up with a message for Rush that we'll place on a billboard right in his hometown?

We'll go through all the slogans we get, and the winner will have his or her message appear on the billboard -- and receive a free T-shirt featuring the winning slogan.

If Republican leaders aren't willing to tell Rush, then we will. Americans want President Obama to succeed. Our country's future depends on it. Rooting for the President's failure is rooting for our country to fail.

To get America back on a path to prosperity, we'll need to leave behind the failed partisan attack politics of the past. Americans voted for a new direction in November. Choosing Rush Limbaugh to be the voice of their party -- as Republican leaders have done -- is not the answer.

Send in your suggestion of ten words or less for a billboard and we'll choose the best one to put in Rush's own "backyard":

Thanks

I have a suggestion as to what the Democrats can do with their billboards, but I shall refrain.

dueling billboards? If so, the official party seal would be a good one. ;-)

My suggestion:

Today: This Billboard,

Tomorrow: Mount RushMore!

Go Rush.

I guess if I ever get a chance to meet her socially, I’ll have to ask her how the Edwards campaign went.

Maybe somebody should start an Obama Haiku site.

I know Rush has to be enjoying this immensely and think of all the free publicity.

The remarkable thing is that Obama and the entire Democratic Party have publicly challenged a private citizen (they recently scuttled their own petition to shut Rush down) and now this pathetic, juvenile billboard attack schtick is just too funny.

What kind of game plan is this?!

I feel like Alice following the White Hare down a danged rabbit-hole.

Actually, the more stumbling, rank-amateur, diversity-selection rookies they promote to important positions, the better.

If she wants to burn DNC money on inane teen-angst billboard slogans, let her.

I'll guarantee there are more commercial (i.e. professional) interests waiting in line to advertise on "Limbaugh demographic" billboards than she can imagine. they actually know what they are doing, and the billions of dollars they generate from commerce (as opposed to theft from taxpayers or contributions from shady foreign billionaires) proves it.

If she's dumb enough to put the colossally unsuccessful Edwards campaign on her resume, it's a sure bet that she's inept enough to blithely dip into the wrong pot of Puppet-Master Soros’ money, and get hauled off to court for illegal campaign activities (I know, I know, but a guy can dream can't he?).

You’d almost think he paid them for it. Madison Avenue couldn’t have concocted a better marketing campaign (not that those limosine libs would touch him).

They’re so dumb. Their thinking is “hey, let’s put up a billboard in Rush’s hometown that insults him. Nobody likes that.”

LOL. Wish I lived in WPB. It will be something to look at and ponder.

I think Rush should start a contest with suggestions for gifts to foreign dignitaries visiting the White House. Obviously, the Obamas could use with some help.

They might wish they had not started this one.

Buying billboard space is a game anyone can play, if they have the money to do it. I imagine there are more than a few conservatives out there who would like to express their disgust with Obama and the Dims.

Heck, we could have a dedicated thread with nothing but billboard suggestions.
