Dems Billboard to Rush
democrat party ^ | March 5, 2009

Posted on 03/05/2009 10:22:59 AM PST by reagandemocrat

I'm Jen O'Malley Dillon, the new Executive Director of the Democratic National Committee.

If you're anything like me, then you've had the urge to talk back to a right-wing talk radio host more than a few times. Now you can.

Rush Limbaugh has made waves lately about his desire to see President Obama fail. And he's unapologetic, even though Americans voted in November for the very kind of change the President is bringing to Washington. As even Limbaugh must know, if the President fails, America fails.

Incredibly, Republican leaders have yet to condemn Limbaugh for his destructive comments. In fact, Republicans like Congressman Eric Cantor, a leader in the House, have adopted the Limbaugh strategy, telling the Washington Post recently that their strategy on the President's jobs plan was "just saying no."

The only Republican leader to challenge Limbaugh -- the chairman of the Republican National Committee -- even called Rush to apologize just a few days later.

But we have no apologies for Rush, just a message. We need you to come up with a slogan, in ten words or less, that we'll put on a billboard where he can't miss it -- in his hometown of West Palm Beach, Florida.

Can you help us come up with a message for Rush that we'll place on a billboard right in his hometown?

We'll go through all the slogans we get, and the winner will have his or her message appear on the billboard -- and receive a free T-shirt featuring the winning slogan.

If Republican leaders aren't willing to tell Rush, then we will. Americans want President Obama to succeed. Our country's future depends on it. Rooting for the President's failure is rooting for our country to fail.

To get America back on a path to prosperity, we'll need to leave behind the failed partisan attack politics of the past. Americans voted for a new direction in November. Choosing Rush Limbaugh to be the voice of their party -- as Republican leaders have done -- is not the answer.

Send in your suggestion of ten words or less for a billboard and we'll choose the best one to put in Rush's own "backyard":

Thanks

OMG it just came to me: imagine how much more intolerably obnoxious David Frum and David Brooks will be if we lose in 2010.

No, we voted for the pretty words "hope" and "change". We never paid any attention to details, and even the Obama voters, most of them, don't like socialism.

"even though Americans voted in November for....."

.....John McCain, but were overcome by massive vote fraud, Democrats are audacious (and insane) enough to claim a mandate to destroy America.

If Obama fails, America survives. If Obama succeeds, America fails.

What it should have said.

Here is a billboard I'd like to see: ( Missouri Bill to Require Birth Certificates for Presidential Candidates)

While these twits twist and turn in the wind over a private citizen who brings truth to Americans, this debate over Obama's actual citizenship is proof that those Americans who voted for Obama have turned their backs on the United States Constitution; they are willing to let a possible impostor lead (?) their country when none of us are sure who is leading him.

From BleedingHeartland.com

"Jennifer O'Malley Dillon will be the DNC's executive director.

Congratulations to Jennifer O'Malley Dillon, who according to the Washington Post is President-elect Barack Obama's choice to be the new executive director of the Democratic National Committee. She will be "running the party's day-to-day operations, including fundraising".

The job is particularly important because Obama's pick for DNC chairman, Tim Kaine, still has a year to serve as governor of Virginia and presumably won't be a hands-on manager at the DNC.

Many Iowans know O'Malley Dillon from her work on John Edwards' presidential campaigns. She worked in field before the 2004 caucuses and was Edwards' Iowa campaign director before the 2008 caucuses. After Edwards left the presidential race, she became the director of battleground states strategy for Obama's campaign.

O'Malley Dillon is married to Patrick Dillon, whom she met while both worked on Edwards' first presidential campaign here. Patrick Dillon later managed Chet Culver's gubernatorial campaign and became the governor's chief of staff.

Regarding the news that Obama wants Kaine as DNC chairman, Bob Brigham made some persuasive arguments against the choice, while Jonathan Singer was "more than content with the pick." Singer noted,in recent years the DNC Chairmanship has been split into two posts while the Democrats have controlled the White House, with a dignitary serving as General Chairman and a strategist running the day-to-day operations of the committee. Under Bill Clinton, this strategy predominated, with Connecticut Senator Chris Dodd, Colorado Governor Roy Romer and then-former Philadelphia Mayor Ed Rendell serving as General Chairmen -- the spokesmen of the party -- while others were left to handle the details. Indeed, this appears to be the thinking of Obama in tapping Kaine, also choosing the director of his battleground state strategy, Jennifer O'Malley Dillon, to run the committee's operations.

My main concern is that the committee not abandon the 50-state strategy after Howard Dean leaves. Washington insiders attacked Dean for sending organizers to red states in 2005, but that strategy contributed significantly to Democratic gains in Congress in 2006 and 2008.

UPDATE: At Century of the Common Iowan, noneed4thneed observes that O'Malley Dillon's appointment "probably solidifies the Iowa Cacuses's first in the nation status".

O'Malley-Dillon is seen by the team as a manager with an organizational background that appeals to Obama. She is large measure responsible for Sen. John Edwards's solid caucus performances in 2004 and 2008. She was recruited by Steve Hilderband to join Obama's campaign as battleground states director and spent the general election overseeing state field budgets and figuring out where to send the principals.

The DNC will retain traditional responsibilities, like planning the convention and political research. But it will significantly expand its campaign organizing capacity and probably its staff; think of it as current DNC chairman Howard Dean's 50 state strategy on steroids".

She's a tool.

Oh man! this is funny. I'd love to see it in Palm Beach! The Democrats are obsessed with Rush to no end. It keeps getting better every day and you know why? They are not talking about their agenda for the country. The Democrats have the votes to pass it on their own and yet they care what Rush thinks of them! Why?
