WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama enjoys widespread backing from a frightened American public for his ambitious, front-loaded agenda, a new poll indicates.
He is more popular than ever, Americans are hopeful about his leadership, and opposition Republicans are getting drubbed in public opinion, the new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll suggests.

Americans are so stupid, I can’t believe this. What have we become? A nation of give me give me give me’s. This whole mess really started with the democrats and our republic will end because of the democrats. Vietnam war (which was started by the democrats) is what brought about this load of socialistic communist BS onto our nation and led to the collapse of our moral standing as a nation. It has only gotten worse since the 1960’s. Each decade our kids get worse and worse, and our politicians become more and more entrenched in corruption and political elitism.

If this is actually true and really representative of the majority of folks in this country, we’ve had it.
If these people end up eating straw and burning their worthless paper currency for warmth, will they still worship him? The way things are going, it seems likely.

Each of the polls is a loaded question in and of itself. None of them provided the answer I would choose.

As long as Barack continues to propose (or worse, implement) brain-dead policies, the situtation will continue to worsen. It can’t do anything else.

First of all, I don’t believe it - while polls from the professional polling houses were accurate last year, polls from MSM outlets, even the WSJ, were notoriously cooked and leaned way left.
Second of all, give it two years. When Obama’s “stimulus” has done diddly, and unemployment is in double digits and people start to see that spending umpteen trillion dollars we didn’t have has done nothing to help, we’ll see where his popularity is at. Give it time, folks.

I voted, but from the looks of the numbers, we don’t have a chance on his one.
W was at 63% at this time in 2001 and even after the SCOTUS “selected not elected” BS. I hate the media...

Although some of these polls may be skewed, it would appear that those of us who pride ourselves on being conservatives are in a definite minority, and that does not bode well for the future.

I seem to recall a lot of "Don't believe the polls!" around election time, too, when they were saying Obama was going to win. :(
It's gonna be a long four years. People aren't going to just listen to the folks from our side telling them they're wrong--they're going to have to find out for themselves through the bitter experiences ahead.
NBC polls are propaganda polls. Besides his celebrity status is largely irrelevant to his capability. He is a clown. He appears in public and one hears the faint sound of a distant steam calliope. What a mess!

More governing by consensus, hey? He who would live by the polls shall surely die by them, when the inevitable reversal sets in. The supposed benefits were front-loaded, but that means the reckoning and restoration will be coming at us like a hurling locomotive approaching an unguarded crossing.

With Kramer, Gergen and Brooks admitting an error in judgment I predict by April 1 Obama’s poll numbers will be lower.

“First the far Left savaged Labor Secretary nominee Linda Chavez. Now its surrogates in the mainstream press have decided to jump in: Today’s Associated Press story by Laura Meckler is a particular disgrace. In what is ostensibly a news report, Meckler performs a selective review of Chavez’s various writings and then invites feminist critics to say she “has no business in the U.S. government.” It is a hit job, dressed up as objective journalism.”
Meckler does her dishonest best to distort Chavez’s views. She claims, for instance, that Chavez “ridiculed the Americans with Disabilities Act as ‘special treatment in the name of accommodating the disabled.’”

It’s early. His honeymoon won’t last for long. Once it’s obvious things are only going to get worse under his massive spending, people will start to turn away. In the meantime, hopefully the GOP will return to its fiscally conservative roots instead of clinging to the liberal-in-sheep’s-clothing neocon fiscal policies.

He came in in bad times and people like the idea “he is doing something.”
Carter was elected because, partially, of the recession of 1976 and was much more popular at this time than current occupant.
Those of us who live and breathe this stuff each and everyday, plus those “with skin in the game” see what's on the horizon.

This country has supported over 45 years of welfare—generations of welfare.

I warned a year and a half ago that Obama would be the next Pres. (unless Hillary could win the primaries) based on the observance of many friends who were going starry-eyed over Obama. Very few conservatives here or anywhere agreed with me at the time. Nobody with that little experience could win. Now many are saying that his popularity is going down, that the polls are wrong. Again based on observing the same friends as before, Obama can do no wrong. Conservatives don’t understand the hold this man has over independents and Dems.
I don’t believe Obama is more popular than ever before, either.
It’s still early but it does make you wonder. This guy seems to be a real loser. I just don’t understand Obama’s reaction to the market decline which is clearly caused by all of the goofy tax and policy announcements. To much to soon but I don’t think he cares I just don’t get it.
