She is an idol/figure head who is treated as a God because the British think she has been put there by God.

She is not treated as a god. She is kind of treated as a symbol, a connection to history. Insult her, you insult a nation & whether she is relevant or not is just not our call. That may not suit your sensibilities, but it does seem to be rather childish that you think the world need bow down to you way of thinking. Even a symbolic head of state is a head of state & it is very crass to insult nations with forms of government which you disapprove by ignoring it.

In fact there was a book not long ago that was written by a British writer who basically explain how the “Queen's” bloodline can be traced all the way back to Christ.

So what? The claim is heretical & no scholar worth note would think much of the claim. I've read that Europe's royal lines can be traced back to one of the sons of Noah, with a path through King David.

I understand her role, but I don't see her value. She is obsolete. The concept that she is better, more divine and elevated than any woman or man is astounding to me.

Like I said, it's not our call. British Prime Ministers have come & gone, but there's been more stability in the UK's relationships with many nations, because of the Queen. Rather than just bureaucrats ding their jobs, with wildly swinging ideologies every time the government changes hands, there is someone who has built up long term relation with many world leaders to offer sound advice.

Do you believe she is more extraordinary by blood than your own Mother?

I've done enough genealogy & I'll tell you, many of her ancestors are ancestors of all Europeans. Bloodlines are no big deal & finding royal bloodlines are an amusing distraction. history's more fun when you've got relatives involved in making it.

Would you bow down to her if you met her? Why?

I don't know if I would or not. Guess it would depend on circumstances. If I did, would be because I think that she's above anyone else. I guess that I could justify it on the grounds of respecting my elders.

So tell me, do you think that it would be okay with dissing the Pope for the same reasons you think it would be okay to snub the Queen?

Well, let’s see. Bowing to someone is done in Japan because it’s a sign of respect, but the other person also bows to you. The respect is mutual, even with elders.

With the Queen, the respect is not mutual because she would never think that she had the obligation to show you an equal amount of respect by bowing to you regardless of age. Why? Because you are not her equal. Why are you not equal? Because you are not of her blood? Why is her blood better than yours? Because someone said so way back when.

Don’t get me wrong; I think respect should be shown to every head of state. However, I don’t think the Queen should be someone who deserves extraordinary treatment because she is considered royalty. She is not elected so to me she is there because she was born into it.

Pope and Queen:
Respect expressed to the Pope is not the same kind of respect expressed to the Queen because they represent completely different things.

The Pope is the living representation of Christ and His life where as the Queen is not. The Queen has not devoted her life to Christ the way the Pope has. The Queen belongs to the State and the Pope belongs to Christ. Sort of like Pilot and Christ.

Respect shown to the Pope is respect for what he represents. The Queen represents a state. In my estimation the Pope should be able to afford a higher level of respect. All she had to do was exist.

Look, ultimately we designed the form of government that we did after the revolutionary war because folks like John Adams believed the rights that the “royal Crown was providing for its people where inadequate. The founding fathers believed that all men had the same rights as royalty because those rights were established not by the king, but by our creator. History has demonstrated how the British crown respected those rights. Just ask the Irish.

“with wildly swinging ideologies every time the government changes hands,” You comment struck me. I’m talking to someone who prefers monarchy over free elections.

The Queen is obsolete and useless. She is a relic of a time that has expired. She is a created figure.

The way things are going, there will be a day when the royal family will be asked to bow to Mecca.

The Pope is the living representation of Christ and His life

Maybe that's true in your opinion, my opinion differs. Tho I'm not Roman Catholic, I think it is appropriate to show him respect. If we're talking some of the previous holders of Peter's chair, I'd be hard pressed to muster up any of that respect & would be more inclined to denounce him. If I was in government & it was my job to act on behalf of our nation, I'd probably find a way to keep my personal opinions to myself.

where as the Queen is not. The Queen has not devoted her life to Christ the way the Pope has. The Queen belongs to the State and the Pope belongs to Christ. Sort of like Pilot and Christ.

Wow, I think I'm beginning to see why you're unable to muster up indifference, where protocol dictates showing respect for her. If we value our alliances with nations of the Commonwealth, we treat her with respect & that respect does not mean bowing down & scraping to her. She meets state leaders of other nations as equals, not subjects.

Look, ultimately we designed the form of government that we did after the revolutionary war because folks like John Adams believed the rights that the “royal Crown was providing for its people where inadequate. The founding fathers believed that all men had the same rights as royalty because those rights were established not by the king, but by our creator. Sounds almost like you think we should chuck our alliance with the UK.

LOL That's quite a stretch. I've never been a big royal watcher. Didn't watch any of the big royal weddings. Have always been stymied by the whole Princess Di thing & was surprised by the reaction from a Kiwi net bud when "the Queen Mum" died. Our government, in the way that it was originally crafted is far superior to that of any nation in the world! Other nations do things differently, it's not our call. Brits chuck out the monarchy, would make no difference to me.

Or the Pocket Fisherman. There’s bound to be a well-stocked cement pond at Buckingham Palace.

You need some time to relax. Spend a day at the races or a night at the opera.

Re: the Obama gift-giving game. I wonder if News of the World will give this story the works. I assume they're generally sympathetic to all this Obama jazz, so it would be sort of a miracle if they would even stoop to innuendo about this kind of magic negro. They'd rather devote all the hot space on the front page to how his presidency was made in heaven, I'll wager.

It would make the Canadians happy for sure. That is one faux paus I would LOVE to see. If it were me, I’d bring a 1947 Glenlivet instead.

Since I could find no pictures of the two together I used my imagination to figure out how it went. ( If you want to laugh some more at the American Stalin, click on his face!)
