Barack Obama 'too tired' to give proper welcome to Gordon Brown

Barack Obama's offhand approach to Gordon Brown's Washington visit last week came about because the president was facing exhaustion over America's economic crisis and is unable to focus on foreign affairs, the Sunday Telegraph has been told

Sources close to the White House say Mr Obama and his staff have been "overwhelmed" by the economic meltdown and have voiced concerns that the new president is not getting enough rest.

British officials, meanwhile, admit that the White House and US State Department staff were utterly bemused by complaints that the Prime Minister should have been granted full-blown press conference and a formal dinner, as has been customary. They concede that Obama aides seemed unfamiliar with the expectations that surround a major visit by a British prime minister.

But Washington figures with access to Mr Obama's inner circle explained the slight by saying that those high up in the administration have had little time to deal with international matters, let alone the diplomatic niceties of the special relationship.

Allies of Mr Obama say his weary appearance in the Oval Office with Mr Brown illustrates the strain he is now under, and the president's surprise at the sheer volume of business that crosses his desk.

A well-connected Washington figure, who is close to members of Mr Obama's inner circle, expressed concern that Mr Obama had failed so far to "even fake an interest in foreign policy".

utter lack of Class and Dignity of this Administration is appalling

It is all a freaking redistribution scheme with a teleprompter conceived by college professors and entertainers. He might not even RUN for another term. His efforts to change will waste him as if he was on a sinking ship in a hurricane.

Somehow I don’t see the UK Press Corp. apologizing and spewing Obamah propaganda in support of the “First Black” US President.

Erm ... pardon me, but isn't the State Department headed up by *the smartest woman in the world* -- you know, the one who has *thiry-five years of experience, counts eight years as the wife of a president as qualification to hold the position*?? HILARY CLINTON AND HER MINIONS don't know what the expectations that surround a major visit by a British prime minister are??

As we would put it when we were kids, "Smooth move, Ex-lax."

I agree - marijuana was my first thought - he’s been cooling back with a hit or two and can’t handle the pace demanded.

What a sham the guy is.

I think he is doing more than MJ. In his book, he admitted to cocaine or “blow.”

Obama can do that for nothing but partying with lots of top shelf liquor or the finest vintage wines, paid for by you the taxpayer, makes the spirits even more enjoyable. The socialist dream come true.

I had to click on the article—I thought you might have been joking, or that this was actually from the Onion or Scrappleface. My apologies for doubting you.

They concede that Obama aides seemed unfamiliar with the expectations that surround a major visit by a British prime minister.

Alternate explanation----- BHO (Aitch) was miffed that on Brown's first visit, Sir Tedward was knighted.

Surely, Obama has an Office of the Chief of Protocol

Those possibilities are so scary that I'm actually hoping that Biden steps down and Obama asks Hillary to be his VP.

Obama Chic: President Forges New Path in Protocol
Like his predecessors, Obama must master the presidential protocol that has long ruled the White House. From military salutes to the presidential march to the customs by which foreign visitors are welcomed, every commander-in-chief must respect the traditions that have come to define the office.

Folks wonder why comrade Obama shipped the bust of Churchill back to Britain? Consider the following:

"How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity.

The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities, but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it.

No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome." -- Winston Churchill

Who did comrade Obama give his first interview to upon becoming President? Arab television network Al Arabiya.
