I can’t see the local county sheriff ticketing me for growing tomatoes

I can't either, considering here the sheriff would also have to ticket himself and his wife!!!!

But, then again, in this upside-world of 0, anything is possible.

That unfortunately is all so true.

Yeah, our sheriff is a gardener as well. Glad I don’t live in the big city anymore.

I’m jealous that you’re out digging. We have 6” of the white stuff on the way. Ugh! I think I’ll visit my seedlings growing under the lights.

I always like to say to them, “ok, lets just for a moment say abortion is an overstep of that boundary by conservatives. Give me another one.”

Then I cover the litany of ways liberals have overstepped the boundaries for our own good.

And it is a litany.

“JUST WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE IN OUR LEGISLATURE AND WHAT THE F**K ARE THEY REALLY TRYING TO DO?”

Stealth Communists that want to enslave us. Why? Marxism is hellish mental and spiritual illness. I doubt most normal people can imagine the mindset.

I thank the Good Lord every day that I no longer live in a city of ANY size.........and I grew up in NYC :)

We had the white stuff last Monday and Tuesday, and even though I’m digging today, my husband is on his way over to a friend’s place to cut more firewood. It might be 75 right now, but we’ve got frost and freeze warnings for tonight.

BUT -— my greenhouse is done and when he gets home later hubby promised to get the shelves put in so I can get seed flats out there. I’m not worried about that not happening, he really prefers a table to his desk for eating dinner and right now all three tables in this house have planting paraphernalia on them.

This bill cannot pass. The government has been making wholesome food more difficult to obtain for years, doing things like allowing cloned food into the food supply without identifying it and raiding farms selling raw milk. This is unacceptable. America is probably so fat and suffering from so many degenerative diseases at least in part due to government-created problems with our food supply and recommendations that later prove to be wrong.

This is bad enough. But making it illegal for people to grow their own food can have even more sinister consequences.

Stalin starved the Ukrainians by the millions. The Communists confiscated all the food to send to the cities and trapped the people in the region. It was a crime to try to save oneself from starvation. A person could be shot in the head on the spot for trying keep enough grain to feed his or her family or for trying to escape to a place where food was available. Some people ate their dead family members in an attempt to keep from starving.

These are not powers we want our government to have.

Gabz, I didn't realize you grew up in NYC! I grew up in Sioux Falls, SD - THE biggest city in that state. I guess we have something in common. Big LOL!

Oh, a greenhouse is my life long dream. I cringe every time I think of the 40 or so old bungalow windows we got rid of when we were very stupid in the 1980’s. My husband bought his grandpa's house from the estate and grandpa had stashed all those windows away in the garage rafters. Bah - to think what I could craft out of those buggers today.

75 degrees is a mere dream for us right now. -5 is the prediction for Wednesday night here. I have a table set up in the basement with fluorescents for the seedlings. It's too early for any veggies but I have seed dahlias started and am experimenting with some artichoke seeds a friend gave me.

This is bad news for the people who want to grow a few vegetables in their back yards. I guess even people like me who grow lettuce in gardening pots by the front door.

Somebody needs to really dig into this bill and get the information together in a comprehensive manner.

Many of us are working to make our families safe and completely self-sufficient we have basically lost all faith in our government and legislation like this is very dangerous when it impedes our ability to become self-sufficient.

Where on earth did you find that in the bill? I didn’t see anything like that.
