WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President Obama signed an executive order Monday repealing a Bush-era policy that limited federal tax dollars for embryonic stem cell research.

Obama's move overturns an order signed by President Bush in 2001 that barred the National Institutes of Health from funding research on embryonic stem cells beyond using 60 cell lines that existed at that time.

Obama also signed a presidential memorandum establishing greater independence for federal science policies and programs.

Matthew 10:16-42 Our Lord warned his disciples to prepare for persecution. They were to avoid all things which gave advantage to their enemies, all meddling with worldly or political concerns, all appearance of evil or selfishness, and all underhand measures. Christ foretold troubles, not only that the troubles might not be a surprise, but that they might confirm their faith. He tells them what they should suffer, and from whom. Thus Christ has dealt fairly and faithfully with us, in telling us the worst we can meet with in his service; and he would have us deal so with ourselves, in sitting down and counting the cost. Persecutors are worse than beasts, in that they prey upon those of their own kind. The strongest bonds of love and duty, have often been broken through from enmity against Christ. Sufferings from friends and relations are very grievous; nothing cuts more. It appears plainly, that all who will live godly in Christ Jesus must suffer persecution; and we must expect to enter into the kingdom of God through many tribulations. With these predictions of trouble, are counsels and comforts for a time of trial. The disciples of Christ are hated and persecuted as serpents, and their ruin is sought, and they need the serpent's wisdom. Be ye harmless as doves. Not only, do nobody any hurt, but bear nobody any ill-will. Prudent care there must be, but not an anxious, perplexing thought; let this care be cast upon God. The disciples of Christ must think more how to do well, than how to speak well. In case of great peril, the disciples of Christ may go out of the way of danger, though they must not go out of the way of duty. No sinful, unlawful means may be used to escape; for then it is not a door of God's opening. The fear of man brings a snare, a perplexing snare, that disturbs our peace; an entangling snare, by which we are drawn into sin; and, therefore, it must be striven and prayed against. Tribulation, distress, and persecution cannot take away God's love to them, or theirs to him. Fear Him, who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell Henry's concise commentary.

This will turn out to be the BIG story...

My thought exactly. I was overwhelmed with a feeling of dread as I heard his comments about restoring "real science" to America. All us AGW "deniers" had better head for the hills or we'll be sent to gulags or mental health facilities where the "attendants" are armed.

Adult stems are better than embryonic,,but nobody knows. People tell me GWB stopped embryonic stem cell research and he did not.

But the big news is your own are better,,no rejection issues. No fetus involved.

The ends do not justify the means, no matter how big the ends or how small the means.

This statement is one of natural moral law.

Obama just overturned natural moral law. There will be a great judgement upon him, and all those who fought for this, and us if we do not stand up and fight against this. It is criminal on how silent everyone in the MSM has been about strides against disease while using adult and umbilical stem cells, and remaining silent on the travesties that have accompanied embryonic stem cells.

They cannot consider this real science, because God and science cannot be in conflict with one another. One created the other. Only mans faulty theories/hypothesis can cause error in science, and they seem to be barreling toward that end blindly......May God forgive us......

Made with stunning arrogance. Any opposing views are purely political, you know. Morality is as deemed by obama, who must have decided the beginning of life IS within his paygrade after all...

"In recent years, when it comes to stem cell research, rather than furthering discovery, our government [read President Bush] has forced what I believe is a false choice between sound science and moral values," Zer0 said at the White House.

I'm so sick of this double talk BS! There was NO false choice. Science and scientists were more than welcome to kill babies to conduct their "research".

The ONLY THING President Bush did was forbid the use of TAXPAYER money to do so. Grrrrrrr

Yup. But “cloning is dangerous, proundly wrong.” Smoke and mirrors, all of it.

His definition of “reproductive cloning” means starting tiny cloned human beings -—and then nurtuing them until they’re toddling about and saying “Mama.”

He says this kind of cloning is “morally wrong”.

His definition of “research” or “therapeutic” cloning means starting tiny cloned human beings -— and then experimenting on them or extracting materials from them until they are dead.

He says THIS kind of cloning is “morally right”.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?

Obama thinks God died and left ~O~ in charge.
