Fairfax, Va. Today, the U.S. Supreme Court denied consideration of New York City and Washington, D.C. lawsuits, New York v. Beretta and Lawson v. Beretta, respectively, that tried to hold American gun manufacturers responsible for the acts of criminals. The Court 's order leaves standing a pair of decisions by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and District of Columbia Court of Appeals, both of which found that the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA), enacted in 2005, prevents these types of lawsuits against lawful firearms manufacturers and dealers.
Big city mayors conceived these lawsuits to try and litigate American gun manufacturers who President Roosevelt referred to as the arsenal of democracy out of business, said Chris W. Cox, NRA chief lobbyist. NRA has always believed the courts would agree with Congress that the PLCAA rightfully stops these reckless and politically motivated lawsuits.

We are pleased that the courts have recognized the misguided intent of these lawsuits, concluded Cox. Americas law-abiding firearms manufacturers must be protected from reckless suits that have no legal merit.
The crime is that American juries and judges are so crazy that this needed to be specifically instituted.
Otherwise known as:
The TIAHRT Amendment!
IIRC, the TIAHART amendment prevents agencies from disclosing their firearm source statistics. NYC, Chicago and other municipalities wanted those stats for lawsuits. Agencies said it would jeopardize investigations.
A Turning Tide?

Piss off, gun grabbing communists.
Watch for Congress to repeal this Act by next week...
I forgot to check before. Notice the keyword, banglist. Threads like yours have banglist added as a keyword. Click on it and you’ll understand why.
Weigh the evidence against them and if found guilty of conspiring to undermine the 2 amendment and/or other constitutional rights, then summary execution and then burial in a unmarked grave. repeat as necessary
Hey! Hooray! NRA!! Together we have WON today!
Go pound sand mayor Daley. You and your fascist ilk lose again.
By the way, the Full Auto Ban Amendment to the 1986 Firearms Owners Protection Act never REALLY passed! And the BATF knows it. It was just on a voice vote, and the Nays WAY outweighed the Yeas on the Amendments adoption ballot! I heard it! Rep. Charles Rangel, D-NY, substituting for Tip O’Neil, just PROCLAIMED that it passed, to the GASPS of many in attendence, and the minority Repubs could not challenge him because of the parlimentary rules in effect at the time! HONEST! It is History!
