W'INGING IT
New York Post ^ | March 11, 2009 | Linda Stasi

GWB was wrong. And not just about WMD, CIA and POWs.

The 43rd president of the US famously predicted last May: "I'll be long gone before some smart person ever figures out what happened inside this Oval Office."

Turns out somebody has figured it out. And it ain't 44 either.

No, O will probably spend his whole first term trying to figure out what the hell happened inside that office.

The coarsening of our culture is contributing to our downfall.

Yeah, these “comedians” can’t find it in themselves to make fun of Obama, despite the abundence of material.

Any documentation of her source for the claim that GWB actually made that statement?

There are several elements of the Bush presidency that are not widely known. Ironically, the Bush family secret is that they have discovered and use a new class of computer based strategy far beyond the abilities of even the most adept “realpolitik” genius.

H.W. Bush mentioned part of this years ago, when he mentioned the use of “linkages”. These are described as the thousands of connections between nations around the world, incorporating such things as treaties, trade, personalities, communications, military deals and animosities, etc., etc. Nothing is too trivial to be noted as a linkage. It is continually changing and needs constant maintenance.

Once you have entered the hundreds of thousands of international linkages into data mining software, suddenly strange and interesting opportunities await. All sorts of developing problems show themselves, and you learn how to indirectly manipulate events for the best possible outcome.

The public version of this software is used by police to data mine criminal activity, and it is so successful that a version was adapted for use against terrorist organizations in Iraq. But that deals at an individual level and is far less complex than an international version.

Even before the start of the W. Bush presidency, it was very clear that the middle east all the way to southern Asia was going to be the major trouble region in the world for 10-20 years. So even before 9-11, Bush knew he had to intervene in a major way to prevent a third world war.

As to W. Bush’s prior planning, he was always ahead of his opponents of all kinds by at least six months to a year. Even before his first primary campaign, he had sewn up all the Republican big money contributors, so the primary was no contest. Purchase and construction of the Crawford, Texas White House was started at the same time as the general election campaign, and finished just before he was elected.

Ironically, Saturday Night Live made fun of him during the first campaign, coining the word “strategery” as him making a bungled attempt at saying “strategy”. Little did they know that his “strategery” allowed him to run circles around his, and America’s, enemies.

Maybe someone else can answer that. My hazy memory of the writer was that she took part in an on-air feud with Bernie Goldberg in which he was blindsided. Donnie Deutsch show, if I remember correctly — it came and went so quickly.

Will Ferrell:

"We're going from a guy who just set it all up for [comics] to a guy who is just so politically savvy - who thinks so carefully before he speaks."

who thinks so carefully before he speaks

I believe this is their excuse for his "uh, um, and..." verbal STUMBLING.

Will Ferrell plays at being a clown and baffoon and sometimes I wonder how much of it is actually acting. It amazes me that his opinions are so highly valued that news media would even print them.
No wonder our country is in the shape that it is in. Our voters believe absolutely anything that comes out of the mouths of Hollywood bigwigs as solid truth. Sometimes I think we should have to take a basic intelligence test to vote.

Heard about the software’s usage in the ME, but do you have documentation - I’d love to read about this...

“Stick to reviewing sitcoms, Linda.”

I think that’s what she’s doing:
“No, O will probably spend his whole first term trying to figure out what the hell happened inside that office.”

I believe the reporter is telling us that O doesn’t have a clue and that he’ll spend the first term just figuring out how the hell the WH even works. In short, under the guise of reviewing Will Ferrell’s act, Staci has illuminated the daily sitcom happening in the WH under our very noses.

Specifically, I think an overeager editor changed “happens” to “happened.” This sort of SNAFU happens all the time in the newspaper business.

"police"

Very good catch. It was the acronym. And Linda Stasi would have been an excellent commie agent.

At the national and international level, such software would be highly proprietary. What demos I’ve seen of the police version were pretty impressive.
