Posted on 03/11/2009 9:21:33 AM PDT by mojito
If you need any more evidence why Chas Freeman was not fit to hold the office of Director of the National Intelligence Council, have a look at his paranoid, antisemitic statement about his withdrawal: Exiting, Chas Freeman Attacks Israel Lobby.
"Freeman says, The libels on me and their easily traceable email trails show conclusively that there is a powerful lobby determined to prevent any view other than its own from being aired, still less to factor in American understanding of trends and events in the Middle East. The tactics of the Israel Lobby plumb the depths of dishonor and indecency and include character assassination, selective misquotation, the willful distortion of the record, the fabrication of falsehoods, and an utter disregard for the truth. The aim of this Lobby is control of the policy process through the exercise of a veto over the appointment of people who dispute the wisdom of its views, the substitution of political correctness for analysis, and the exclusion of any and all options for decision by Americans and our government other than those that it favors.
Wow. This is the man Barack Obama picked for a sensitive job related to foreign policy.
Of course, I'm sure the next pick for the post by the 0 team will be just as qualified.
I’m wondering if somebody could get Freeman to re-issue that statement in the original German?
Yep, there's no shortage of Saudi Stooges out there.
Good riddance to bad rubbish.
Where does Obama find this endless supply of losers, psychos, tax cheats, sociopaths and vermin for his administration?
Cripes, I could do better tossing darts at rhe phone book.
It's rather easy for them...as they say, "Birds of a feather flock together..."
So, e-mails have been traced? Coming from a would-be Director of the National Security Council, I'd say we dodged a bullet in more ways than one.
Cut Freeman some slack, he lost an uncle in the Holocaust.
He fell out of a guard tower.
The next one will just have a “small” problem with the IRS.
(1) Happy trails to you, Chas.
(2) That's the words of a man who abuses his office to bear grudges against the public. Good Riddance!
(3) Happy trails to you, Chas. Enjoy!
Maybe Obambi could get Hazel O’Leary back to give away more of our nuclear and intelligence secrets.
It’s a miracle that millions of Americans haven’t died from her treason and perfidy.
The “liberals”, socialists, so called “Democrats” and their head amateur traitor, Hussein Obambi are actively working to destroy America and freedom in the entire world.
They’re all fascists.
I'll pass it on to Rush!
---- but feel free to use it anywhere in WaPo or NYT or MSNBC or CNN, ect. comment section!
does the sun rise in the east?
You sure nailed him.
Since Jews voted OVERWHELMINGLY for Obama. I almost wish that Freeman had made it thru, just to teach them a lesson.
I’m sure AIPAC wasn’t too thrilled with Chas Freeman.
However, I don’t think they needed to resort to “willful distortions” to raise serious questions about Freeman’s nomination.
The facts are so appalling that they speak for themselves.
But then Freeman really seals the deal by alleging a secret cabal of nefarious Jews were out to silence him.
However, the only secret cabal in this entire episode was the MSM who ever so delicately avoided discussing the nominee or his views until he withdrew.
How about Freeman saying this in his statement? What a nutjob. Man, talk about dodging a bullet with this guy!
When Admiral Blair asked me to chair the NIC I responded that I understood he was "asking me to give my freedom of speech, my leisure, the greater part of my income, subject myself to the mental colonoscopy of a polygraph, and resume a daily commute to a job with long working hours and a daily ration of political abuse." I added that I wondered "whether there wasn't some sort of downside to this offer." I was mindful that no one is indispensable; I am not an exception. It took weeks of reflection for me to conclude that, given the unprecedentedly challenging circumstances in which our country now finds itself abroad and at home, I had no choice but accept the call to return to public service. I thereupon resigned from all positions that I had held and all activities in which I was engaged. I now look forward to returning to private life, freed of all previous obligations.
(looks like he can't wait to crawl back into bed with the Saudis and Chi-Coms)
Obama threw darts at a phonebook of Dem and Socialist Party members.
Chas Freeman sez...........yahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....it’s all the fault of the joooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooozzzzzzzzzzzz!
Reason 341245 why drinking root beer mixed with 12-year old scotch is not a good idea!
I'll be damned - he just admitted that his head is up his *ss!
If you'd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.
Bet Chas writes a book about his abuse at the hands of the evil Jewish lobby. Jimmy Carter will write the forward.
Damn, what a loss we all are suffering by this withdrawal by Achmed Freeman. I’m certain he would be a great intellectual help to Leaky and Rockie in the Senate as they are almost as smart as my poodle, and all of them really know how to keep a secret!!!
Two problems with that.
First, he works for the Saudis/Chicoms, it's America he'll be damaging, not American Jews or Israel no matter how appealing that might be.
Politically, his diplomatic career began and was nourished under Reagan and Bush I. He'll be portrayed as an anti-Israel Republican, bounced by Clinton, a democrat. Worst thing Obama did was reach across the aisle.
I may be off-base here, but I detect just a hint of sarcasm in your post.
In any normal time O’Leary would be in Levenworth instead of running some phony African Aid Council.
Well, at least he knows where it is located and admits he has a problem! :)
Dennis Blair picked the anti-Semitic creep...who is DENNIS BLAIR??
March 9, 2009 The Honorable Dennis Blair
Director of National Intelligence
Office of the Director of National Intelligence
Washington, DC 20511
Dear Director Blair:
During your nomination process, you indicated your understanding of the importance of clear and accurate intelligence analysis. You explained your understanding of the reasons behind the Iraq WMD intelligence failure and assured Members that one of your goals was to prevent such analytic failures in the future.
You also told the Committee that if nominated your "objective will be to ensure that the analysis produced by the Intelligence Community is objective and free of any political bias, whatever the issue or political climate might be" and said that "President Obama has made it clear ... that he expects independent analysis."
In light of your comments, we were surprised by your decision to appoint Charles Freeman as the next Chairman of the National Intelligence Council (NIC).
The NIC is responsible for providing policymakers with "the best, unvarnished, and unbiased information." Its Chairman leads this effort, is the Intelligence Community's most senior analyst, and is at the forefront of reforming analysis so that mistakes like the Iraq WMD failure are not repeated. Mr. Freeman has a distinguished resume, but his intelligence experience appears to be only as a consumer of intelligence-in other words, using intelligence for policymaking. We are unaware of another instance in which someone without years of intelligence analysis experience has been appointed to this position.
Also concerning-in light of the need for any NIC Chairman to have unquestioned objectivity and an ability to convey the Intelligence Community's judgments in a measured and non-provocative manner-are Mr. Freeman's highly controversial statements about China and Israel. While Mr. Freeman has since made efforts to clarify his remarks, one of the lessons of the 2007 Iran National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) is that an essential quality in leading the NIC is an ability to ensure that NIEs and other NIC products clearly and accurately convey the views of the Intelligence Community when they are published. Once a product is released it is too late to try to clarify the Intelligence Community's judgments.
At a time when the analytic community is continuing to struggle with reforming itself and when U.S. leaders, from the President to Members of Congress, have called for a depoliticization of intelligence, we believe this appointment sends the wrong message. The NIC, as the highest intelligence entity providing top level analysis, must represent the clearest level of analytic expertise, an expertise the rest of the government and the public must be assured is free from policy bias. Given our concerns about Mr. Freeman's lack of experience and uncertainty about his objectivity, we intend to devote even more oversight scrutiny to the activities of the NIC under his leadership.

Thanks for the Ping.
Makes you wonder who comarade Obamavitch will promote next.
That's Step 1.
Step 2 involves a pry bar and some KY...
Rats, and I thought I had really hidden my sarcasm good!! You win, but in this guy’s case, I think we all won when the pompous jerk decided not to go for it. Net Zero has always picked losers, starting with his mates,( marriage & V.P.), and we can only wonder what the clown comes up with next.
You know who’s behind all this anti-semitism? THE JEWS!!! ;’) Thanks C from E.
Funny story about Daniel Pipes. His father was the famous Sovietologist who shaped Pres Reagan’s policy that defeated the USSR. In the early 1970’s Daniel decided to get a doctorate in Islamic History. He said his father questioned his choice. What will you do with that degree.
He told that story at a lecture I went to.
I’m mystified why O’Leary, Bernie Sanders, Reid, Murtha, Pelosi, et al aren’t in jail or being tried for treason.
Are there no consequences for perfidy and treason anymore?
Why not? Why aren’t the laws being enforced?
If only Republicans and conservatives and the “VRWC” could get away with such malfeasance.
