Flashback: Carville Wanted Bush to Fail
Fox News ^ | 3/11/2009 | Bill Sammon

Posted on 03/11/2009 9:57:28 AM PDT by Notwithstanding

The press never reported that Democratic strategist James Carville said he wanted President Bush to fail before the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. But a feeding frenzy ensued when radio host Rush Limbaugh recently said he wanted President Obama to fail.

The real question is, why is Rush hoping that Obama and his policies fail news?

The answer: media bias.

That’s a good point. I guess it’s news because it’s not news. It’s worth pointing out that we don’t even blink at this kind of absurdity anymore, we’re so used to the bias.

more excerpts:

...

On the morning of Sept. 11, 2001, just minutes before learning of the terrorist attacks on America, Democratic strategist James Carville was hoping for President Bush to fail, telling a group of Washington reporters: “I certainly hope he doesn’t succeed.”

Carville was joined by Democratic pollster Stanley Greenberg, who seemed encouraged by a survey he had just completed that revealed public misgivings about the newly minted president.

“We rush into these focus groups with these doubts that people have about him, and I’m wanting them to turn against him,” Greenberg admitted.

...

Minutes later, as news of the terrorist attacks reached the hotel conference room where the Democrats were having breakfast with the reporters, Carville announced: “Disregard everything we just said! This changes everything!”

The press followed Carville’s orders, never reporting his or Greenberg’s desire for Bush to fail...

And the Dem plan to “help” Bush fail was already well under way.

They had already wrested control of the Senate away from the GOP, when they “helped” Sen. Jim Jeffords see the advantages of leaving the GOP in May.

This is just semantics.

I want the Obamessiah to "succeed" in the sense I always want peace and prosperity for the country.

That said, it ain't gonna happen, because his policies have never succeeded in doing that. And I don't want his anti-growth, anti-business, high tax, soft on terrorism policies to succeed, either, which is Rush's point.

This is great reporting by Sammon.
Wonder who his sources are?

We need to find out which “journalists” were present.

They subsequently failed to perform their professinal DUTY to report this once Carville attacked Limbaugh for saying the same damn thing.

They should be fired presently, no questions asked.

More and more, I am convinced that we need to systmatically expose the private lives, controversies, and mistakes of all journlaists - from the smallest local newsroom to the top.

They need the same damn scrutiny that they impose on others.

The difference is that Rush is a private citizen vs Carville
who was and still is part of the DNC. They should have brought that all out on Carville and Pollster, Stanley Greenberg.
I know Rush is a radio personality, but that's his job, but its no different than you or I writing a letter to the editor.

If it was just any old democrat, it would not be that big. Keep in mind Carville is part of the team that has daily meetings with Obama's people and CNN to come up with an anti Rush strategy. The MAIN weapon they came up with is Rush's quote about wanting Obama to fail.

The Glaring Hypocrisy of the Rush Critics, Cont'd

Rush is an entertainer-—no different than the late night hosts and SNL skits. Recently, didn’t SNL do a skit that implied that tax-cheat Geitner might be failing at his job? What entertainers do is make jokes about or parody attitudes that are present in their audiences. They are reflecting the current mood of people. All Rush is doing is expressing what many of us are thinking. We don’t want him to succeed—why would we? We didn’t vote for him because we thought he would fail. No one likes to be proven wrong, so we hope he fails. This isn’t news...it’s as old as comedy itself.

Because the Serpent has been howling like a stuck pig since Rush has said he hopes Obama’s policies will fail, and the left has amnesia about the way they treated GW from the day after the Nov 2000 election.

Reciprocity. Ita a biatch.LOL.

Obama's consequences of not failing are far more comprehensive than Bush's.

Bush did not fail in his WOT. But he was foreced in his second term to drink the RINO cool aid on doomestic issues, and so ini that arena he did fail, it was a trade off to keep his WOT program intact.

And so now we see the dem fruition of such liberal left RINO in aid , wing nut foolishness, a poisoned world economy.

Having taken our wallets, and our daughters ( single moms are just GREAT), the libs will soon come for our dogs ( no pit bulls allowed) and guns. And in that they will fail.

And now Obama is trying to undo the freedom of Iraq, which was earned with a full sacrifice of American blood.

Eff 'em. The Obama left are idiocy personified.

Reciprocity for Obama. You BETCHA!

Will WILL retake the domestic agenda.

I always knew this was a phony story. Let’s face it. This is a derivative of ‘white guilt’. How dare we privileged white people who have exploited people of color for centuries not have the proper noblesse oblige to wish the Messiah well and question his ability to govern or his motives in his decisions. If there is any fallout from the Messiah’s policies we deserve it. it’s all whitey’s fault. Obama is blameless.

The MAIN weapon they came up with is Rush’s quote about wanting Obama to fail.

&&&&&&&

Just remember that Rush gave them that quote. Call it a Trojan Horse, for want of a better simile. He knew what they would do with it. Now Rush is getting national exposure for his opinions far beyond his loyal audience because he knew that they could not resist attacking him, using that quote. He is able to engage the minds of millions of more people, and since our elected ‘loyal opposition’ seem to be mute, Rush has taken up the leadership of the debate.

September 11, 2001 was the first real day of Washington getting started on government business after the August/Labor Day recess. President Bush had flown to Florida to be seen in a classroom, his Education Secretary was on TV, and his wife was on Capitol Hill meeting with Ted Kennedy to discuss plans and ideas for the No Child Left Behind Bill.

Just as President Bush was initiating his plans for the fall legislative season, Carvile [intentional] and friends were initiating their campaign against him.

...this is all part of the Dems’ plan to blame the Republicans WHEN his policies fail. They will brand the GOP as ‘obstructionists’ and claim they were working to undermine Obama from the beginning. Once again, the GOP will allow itself to be defined in the minds of voters.

How is this breaking news?

Yeah, the whole media hypocrisy around Rush is moronic and should be criticized. But then again, he is just an entertainer, a talk radio host. Just because it's a right winger and not Sean Penn or Michael Moore doesn't make this Hollywood fluff more newsworthy.

It's a non-story.
