As a doctor who has just started working at the VA, let me add to that:

1) Only about half of the stool, sputum, urine, and blood samples ordered by physicians at the VA make it to the lab. Of those, the average waiting time for a sample to arrive? About 3 days.

The average time in a private hospital? About 8 hours.

2) Need a stat MRI to evaluate for a spinal cord compression? Not available at the VA. You will wait until the morning, and you will like it.

3) Each nurse at the VA where I work is carrying about 7 patients. This is just astronomically high and massively irresponsible.

There’s no way I’d send my relatives who were Veteran’s to the VA. The care here is substandard, and frankly, I’ll be on my way shortly. The system is just that inefficient.

That’s why I have no less antipathy for those who claim that this isn’t what they voted for.

The information was available, and they willfully ignored it.

They should invest in pine boxes, while we invest in boxes filled with lead, brass, and powder.

I am sick of these “captains of industry” that voted for Obama who seem to be shocked, shocked I say, to find out Obama is a far left liberal, even though that was clear to anyone who had eyes to see and ears to hear prior to the election.

Incompetent Manchurian Candidate. LOL

Actually, we should considers ourselves very, very fortunate that this black nationalist racist, who is leading the most dangerous assault on civil liberties in American history, is a completely incapable affirmative action poster boy with a suboptimal IQ.

Exactly my point, I have heard all about the bureaucracy, lack of funding and personnel at the VA Hospitals.

Exactly. You mean to tell me that in 7 short weeks people suddenly realize what this guy is all about. He had been campaigning for years and secured his nomination many months before the actual election and you're just now saying, "duh, I really didn't know"? Pffft...

You know, there was a very telling moment for me when it comes to Obama. It was when he first started to appoint many of the old Clintonistas to his cabinet.

He said something to the effect that he was appointing them, but the idea of hope and change was all him.

That moment told me that he knew he was not experienced or capable of initiating his Marxist ideas, but “he won” and it was because of “him” that these people he was appointing were going to get the chance to do what they have been wanting to do for years.

We have a trade off here, a POTUS that is not capable of carrying out his ideas without the help of the people who would seek to steal his ideas to get their agenda, and his, through.

Obama was trying, at that moment, to remind the minds around him that if it was not for him, they would never have gotten the chance.

Obama has big goals that he is not capable of without selling a portion of himself to some like minded exploiters. He will never be a happy man because of his own shortcomings.

His own shortcomings is what will bring him down.

Just think about all like his college records, medical records, etc; all that has been hidden about him.

The people in power now are feeding off each other and it is going to unravel one of these days.

Someone just told me tonight at church that they didn’t know, and they’ve been surprised at all he is doing. They didn’t vote for him but also didn’t think it would be this bad.

Three people this week just asked me about my bumper sticker [I’m STILL with Fred]. Said they wished he had been elected, but weren’t paying attention when he was running. There might be others they could wish for as well, but they talk to me about Fred because of my bumper sticker.

I think Obama is convinced that eventually he will wear down his opposition by thrusting burden after burden on them, knowing that many if not most will simply adjust to the oppression over time and accept it as a fact of life. Sort of like what Mugabe has done in Zimbabwe.

If what you say is true then it is a national tragedy and needs to be brought to the public’s attention.

Is this how we are treating our fighting men?

It turns my stomach to think about it.

Does government do good for mankind? In the end, absolutely not.

No man is fit to rule another.

Government is inherently evil and useless. It is a wild, vicious animal unless the aim is to actively keep it WEAK and RESTRAINED and kept barely alive for the simple, sole purpose of defending individual rights.

Anything more and it turns into 100% pure evil.

Yes, I hate government, ALL government. A free man would hate it. A free man doesn’t look for the “good” that it can be used for. In the same way a reformed alcoholic doesn’t search for the “good” that a drink will do him. It will enslave him, EVERY TIME.

At best, government is a necessary evil—a defense against thugs. At worst, 100% thug.

Oh, it's absolutely true. Granted, I work in a city not very well known for the productivity of its workforce, but this has been a systemic problem in the VA regardless of location. I can further assure you that this does not happen in our local private or even county hospitals. If you want to find a group of people opposed to socialized medicine, try talking to resident physicians at the VA. I think you'll very quickly learn that they're staunch opponents of the idea as a group.

I can only hope that DOCTORS—the ones that the common people will trust most will become activists, organize, and loudly proclaim their views on “national/universal healthcare”.

We need YOU, THE DOCTORS, to be heard regarding socialized medicine.

Talk to your patients, write in your journals, post your opinions on your websites and in magazines, talk shows, tv shows, etc.

I know you’re a conservative bunch but you WILL DO HARM to your patients and to your own livelihoods by not speaking out against this en masse.

Interesting. Seriously, I told my wife in either September or October that if Obama got in that things would go down hill fast. Trouble is we haven’t even felt the full impact of what Obama has done. Just wait until the bills start coming due. The coming taxation is going to kill jobs and the economy. Cap and trade? It’s going to wreak havoc. I almost fear we are approaching a period of survival of the fitest.

I have placed my trust in the Lord’s hand, therefore I feel secure despite the surrounding circumstances.
