"So the political antagonists of the President can 'call me out' if they want; though, I think their time would be better spent seeing the larger picture of the economic and related cultural challenges which face the nation," he concluded. An American baby is MURDERED EVERY 24 SECONDS, how's that for the "larger picture"?

Kmiec has lost his mind. To think he used to purportedly be on the short list of potential GOP SCOTUS nominees. We would have been Soutered again.

Excommunicate this Jerk and any elected Officials that vote for this crap.

Hey. No problem! Guys like KuhmYecch give the Inquisition a good name. Suddenly the idea of punishing heretics is something even our Protestant friends can view not only with understanding but with approval!

How ANY person who claims to be Catholic and a Republican and supports BHO is simply beyond my comprehension.
Kmiec should leave both the Church and the Party. What an utterly useless idiot and traitor.

Well, yes, it's true that the US has murdered over 50 million babies, but who really cares about that? Can't we talk about more important things?? [/s]

The Catholic Church has unambiguously identified abortion as a "grave evil". One of the defining things that set early Christians apart from the pagan culture around them was their respect for human life; and specifically their rejection of abortion and infanticide. We can't be Catholic and be evasive or indulgent about the killing of unborn life. We can't claim to be "Catholic" and "pro-choice" at the same time without owning the responsibility for where the choice leads -- to a dead unborn child. We can't talk piously about programs to reduce the abortion body count without also working vigorously to change the laws that make the killing possible. If we're Catholic, then we believe in the sanctity of developing human life. And if we don't really believe in the humanity of the unborn child from the moment life begins, then we should stop lying to ourselves and others, and even to God, by claiming we're something we're not.

Maybe Kmiec really believes this...on the other hand, maybe he’s argued himself into a corner and doesn’t have the intellectual honesty and courage to admit that he’s been terribly wrong all along. It’s hard for a ‘scholar’ to admit he’s wrong, particularly when he’s being attacked. His position really makes no sense.

Excommunicate this Jerk and any elected Officials that vote for this crap.I wonder if Mr. Kmiec knows the definition of "self ex-communication"?

I've always been genuinely mystified as to how anyone who claims to be a Christian could support abortion. Such a belief could not be more opposite of what Jesus Christ taught us.
