Channeling the Young Patrick Henry
The American Spectator ^ | March 13, 2009 | Quin Hillyer

Posted on 03/14/2009 3:21:06 AM PDT by Scanian

If this be treason, make the most of it.

No, not treason against this wonderful nation. But this column may sound suspiciously like treason against the cult of Obama, and against his hagiographers in the establishment media, and against the very idea that this president actually loves this nation's liberal, republican, constitutional order. Consider this also to be treason against the myth that our president is a man of deep, or even average, integrity.

Barack Obama is a radical's radical and a man whose ego vastly outstrips his prior accomplishments. He is dangerous, and after just seven weeks he already is leading this country into disaster.

Let's start with his integrity, or lack thereof. It's not just conservatives who are starting to complain about Obama's dishonesty. Already the decidedly centrist Robert Samuelson has called Obama "a great pretender. He repeatedly says he is doing things that he isn't, trusting in his powerful rhetoric to obscure the difference." Or, as National Review's Jim Geraghty has turned into a repeated and accurate refrain, "All statements from Barack Obama come with an expiration date. All of them."

President Barack Obama doesn’t want to “change” some policies; he wants to change America itself. And he wants to do it on a fast track before the American public fully catches on to him.

My inner Patrick Henry and Sam Adams was channeled during Clinton “Reign of Terror". The fire is still burning.

When you run your mouth as much as Zer0 does, a lot of things you’ve said will eventually come back to haunt you. Besides the obvious lies like “transparency” and “five days for citizens to review legislation.”

That’s the Zer0 “cram and ram” agenda. It’s up to us to bug our congresspeople to death in order to slow Zer0’s socialistic bills down as much as possible.

To the author's list of dubious achievements which lead reasonable man to fear that Obama is a Manchurian Marxist and a potential tyrant, I would add the following from an earlier post:

This administration threatens to censor talk radio, censor the Internet, deny workers the Australian ballot, dictate the appliances we might use, and tax our freedom of travel. It has encouraged or at least failed to discourage an ominous cult of personality which by the video evidence exploits and indoctrinates our youngest children. It has uttered plans to herd young adults into indoctrination camps. It has, both before and after the election, intimidated dissidents and targeted non-compliant media outlets. It has invaded the privacy of private citizens such as Joe The Plummer for propaganda ends. It condones the criminality of its own appointees who had cheated, for example, on their taxes while it promotes inquisitions into the political activities of the preceding administration. The administration has politicized the census for partisan purposes. It intimidates private businesses and threatens to sanction them for their spending decisions when their own personal perks have been far more profligate. They have colluded with the press in daily telephone conspiracies to propagandize the news.

On a a cultural level, as distinguished from a legal/constitution level, they have set one race against another, libeled American people- who elected an unqualified Negro President,-as cowards about race, set one class against another, stoked envy and jealousy in our midst, disincentivized striving for excellence, subsidized failure, undermined the rule of law, and lied repeatedly to the public. In virtually everything this administration has done on a legal, political, or cultural level this administration has sought to advance a plan for the radicalization of America laid down by Saul Alinsky in his book, Rules for Radicals.

The specter is not just one of economic misery but of moral and physical enslavement.

I agree, but here in Michigan that’s pretty much a hopeless cause. Voters need to understand how this affects them and maybe the democrat stranglehold can be broken.

My 12 year old grandson, Aaron, who has very apolitical parents, is spending the weekend with me. He saw me reading some blogs late last night and he asked me about Obama, whom he said won his school’s mock election by an 80-20 majority (mainly upscale white kids). He said he didn’t understand what the appeal was. I mentioned to him that Obama’s main talent was reading from a teleprompter, he comes from a commie family, has a fabricated life story, undocumented birth history, no college or law school grades have been released, no medical records or passport released, and practically no friends fron Zer0’s have come forward. Aaron’s unsolicited reaction to all that? “It sounds like somebody programmed him.” Out of the mouths of babes.

This nation, once Blessed by God, is now on it’s own. Obama isn’t George McGovern or Hubert Humphery or even Walter Mondale. Obama savagely despise what God blessed and wants it dead. He will ignore all tradition and Law in seeing to his ends. The American people will watch, occasionally mildly bleating on some point of outrage or other like the sheep they have become but doing nothing more.

Hopefully the sprit of the Founders is still alive in the hearts of enough men to get in the way....at some point....

Yeah, good luck with that.

If you have died-in-the-wool liberal reps, they will probably not ne responsive. But even libs notice when the public is outraged. If your reps are blue dogs, you might be pleasantly surpised. Quite a few of them are getting annoyed by Zer0 because he’s causing them trouble with their constituents.

I have been calling him the "Manchurian Marxist" since before the election. I suppose someone else might call him the " Stepford President." Aaron strikes me as a sharp and intuitive kid.

There are several very sinister candidates for the role of programmer: William Ayres, Saul Alinsky, and, most sinister of all, George Soros.

Soros ended up being our programmer of choice. I’d love to know how much he has benefitted by short-selling recently. With the hyperinflation that we’re sure to have, Soros will short the dollar as well. Everything Zer0 does “smacks” of a Soros scheme.
