Most of us aren't socialist. You might want to use a different can of paint and lose the broad brush.
The Republican leadership has incrementally taken the party down the path to socialism over many years in order to expand the voter base. Bush, McCain, Snowe, Specter, Collins, Graham Just to name a few. You need to take off the blinders. You are the proverbial frog in the pot who has been slowly cooking. It is the political version of battered wife syndrome returning to those who have continually abused the members hoping conservatism will be restored. The broad brush analogy is becoming more appropriate with each passing day.

Good point. I wish more of the so called conservatives or fair and balanced reporters on FOX would come up with a response to the Liberals obvious canned party line of “...the problem is we inherited this from the last administration” for everything. They should respond with, “you may be correct, the voters should consider scrapping both parties and trying something different”. After they do that a few dozen times, maybe the Libs will drop that lame excuse. Who knows, maybe in 2010 we can run the Constitution and Libertarian Parties against the Communist and Socialist Parties. That would be interesting.
