What happened to the mob when prohibition was overturned?

Their power decreased drastically.

They went into other criminal activity.

Yeah, the same penny-ante crime they did before prohibition.

Another dumb idea from the Schizophrenic.

The late William Buckley and former NM Governor Gary Johnson are also schizos too, because they supported legalizing marijuana.

Lib = Liberal = Libertarian.

BS. Most libertarians and Dr. Paul are more conservative than 90% of the Stupid Party.

Some folks are looking for easy answers to a situation that has to be fought.

Here's 2 easy answers to stopping marijuana: Either secure the borders and let Mexico sit in their own stew, or let states regulate it like alcohol. Why the gov't won't do this is simple. The prison/law enforcement complex needs to be fed.

Do you think alcohol should be illegal?

I have few beefs with Reagan.. The fact he expanded the war on drugs is one of my beefs. The war on drugs has taken away more rights from and given more power to federal government..

I sure wish most employers held your opinion. What I might do this weekend should not effect my job performance on Monday, much less 4 Mondays from now.

You said — “I would smoke weed all the time if it didn’t make me fat. Or more accurately, make me want to pig out which makes me fat.”

Well I wouldn’t smoke it under any conditions. It also has to do with breathing in smoking embers from something that has been burning. It never seemed too healthy to me...

Social liberals are the worst kind.

I'd rather deal with social liberals than nanny-statist bible-thumpers found in the Stupid Party. BTW, there are just as many pro-life Christian libertarians as there are pro-abortion immoral hypocrites in the GOP.

I love the mob ,, they sell gasoline without paying fed gas taxes all over NY/PA/MA/NJ depriving “O” of cash , they smuggle cigs depriving “O” of cash ,, lets re-legalize pot and let the mob expand on their pro-American anti-tax pursuits.

Yeah, let's forget about Paul's brilliant economic and free market ideas.

It's not just the pot they want to legalize.

It's the other hard drugs like Cocaine, Heroine and Meth that are next in line.

Good question.

When it was illegal, what did the gubmint want?

To legalize it and TAX it.

Same with pot. Libertarians (who are supposed to be for SMALL government) want to legalize it and TAX it.

(See California, for instance)

Why? Why are Libs (Libertarians) for higher taxes - which leads to BIGGER goverment?
