Really? Why not put her in a burka and call it done. There is nothing wrong with the picture displayed on this thread. If this is what evangelicals are protesting in the way of pre-teen fashion, I say “Bravo Sierra”.
If she had a chest in the DD range with half of it hanging out of a tube top and a mini skirt or hot pants on, I’d get it, but this...c’mon, really?
The show stinks like most “educational” children’s programs, but the clothes, honestly??? I’m a prude and all for proper clothes, but just seriously, this is overreaching.
Dora’s wearing capris. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capri_pants
Of course with the one tiny exception that Bob actually has experience and can legitimately fix things.
>> Dora has actually been replaced by Ni Hao, Kai Lan in our house. Thats actually a good show.
Never heard of it. We didn’t ban Dora — but my daughter outgrew it and Blue’s Clues pretty young. We’ve replaced with mostly Disney — Einsteins, Handy Manny, etc. The Wiggles and Doodlebops are irritating as hell — but not particularly objectionable otherwise.
She watches some of the older stuff as well — Yogi Bear, Scooby Doo, Tom & Jerry, Super Friends, etc.

I just don’t care much for the Handy Manny show. It keeps the theme I’ve seen for some time in ethnic shows where the white guy (never a woman either) is a complete moron who couldn’t get himself out of a wet paper sack with directions. I guess that’s just me though, maybe I just need to get thicker skin.
Looks like Dora is wearing leggings to me. My daughter has several of them that she wears under her skirts.
Depending on the fabric the tight/legging/capri line can get pretty fuzzy. Legging tend to be a little longer and tighter than capris but shorter and thicker than tights. Either way I’m not sure what kind of person would think that’s sexed up.
Looks like they finally decided to make Dora a girl.

This update looks fine to me. The majority of her catholic and christian friends dress similar to this during the summer. Too many anxious people, begging to be offended.
Um....Do you watch the Tween shows.
The little bimbetts they must grow from pods in some warehouse only to plop out a few more new “stars” every 6 months or so.
Most of ‘em dissapear quickly, 17 year old millionares. others go on to live the lives of Lindsay Lohan and Britany.
Great Disney Role models.
I understand that there are always exceptions.
Justin Timberlake looks like he turned out just fine. Etc.
South Park had a great episode last week That totally destroyed disney.
Check it out.
Truth hurts.

People are upset about THAT??? Where’s the offense? Maybe the dress is a bit shortl and the ear-rings are too much for a tween, but the rest? She looks too much like a pampered, urban kid. But I wouldn’t call it offensive!
But those examples you gave--Lindsay, Britney--aren't WITH Disney any more, FRiend.
What they turn into when they grow up is no more Disney's fault than it is their Kindergarten teacher's.
When they WERE with Disney, they were just fine. Perhaps they should go BACK!
And South Park is your standard for truth?
Wow. Can't help you there.
Sounds like ‘Map’ will TAKE me places!
Not what a map does at all!
If it takes a cartoon to get an obvious point across to what Dsiney is selling these days then whatever.
I watch this show drake and josh or whater on Nik and i can’t believe the innuendo i’m seeing. and alot of it seems geared Homo to me.
Whatever, lots of kids watch it i guess.
Glad i never had any.
My original reply to this thread was going to be, "THIS is offensive??? I'm just glad they didn't make Dora grow up to be Dorian!
Looks like a maternity outfit. Is there something they aren’t telling us?
Has Dora been ‘Exploring’ without us?
i am happy to say that my kids do not watch the DisneyChannel... not because i think it's evil or the devil, but because it's drivel... twaddle, if you will...
My name is Dora!
The Latina explora’!
I was born in Sonora!
Hoo-ray! Hoo-ray! Hoo-ray!
Eh. Entertainment does not always have to be important, insightful or educational. As long as it isn’t objectionable — sometimes, its just entertainment. For the most part, that’s all that the Disney Channel is ... entertainment for kids.
