Obama to Sign U.N. Declaration Calling for Decriminalization of Homosexuality
Fox News ^ | March 18, 2009

The Obama administration will endorse a U.N. declaration calling for the worldwide decriminalization of homosexuality that then-President George W. Bush had refused to sign, The Associated Press has learned.

U.S. officials said Tuesday they had notified the declaration's French sponsors that the administration wants to be added as a supporter. The Bush administration was criticized in December when it was the only western government that refused to sign on.

The move was made after an interagency review of the Bush administration's position on the nonbinding document, which was signed by all 27 European Union members as well as Japan, Australia, Mexico and three dozen other countries, the officials said.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because Congress was still being notified of the decision. They said the administration had decided to sign the declaration to demonstrate that the United States supports human rights for all.

"The United States is an outspoken defender of human rights and critic of human rights abuses around the world," said one official.

According to negotiators, the Bush team had concerns that those parts could commit the federal government on matters that fall under state jurisdiction. In some states, landlords and private employers are allowed to discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation; on the federal level, gays are not allowed to serve openly in the military.

It was not immediately clear on Tuesday how the Obama administration had come to a different conclusion.

Yes, I am surprised that some still want to outlaw homosexuality.

What surprises me is that homosexuality is still a criminal offense anywhere and that the worthless UN thinks it can do anything about it

So now it’s legal for all the little sodomites to go around fornicating with each other and pushing their agenda upon the rest of us - world wide.

The Indian model is best. It's criminal, but virtually never prosecuted, so the law is just there to keep it out of decent society and away from kids.

In America they want kindergarterners taught about homo sodomy. That is SICK, and in India they do not have that problem, because it is rightly illegal.

It is clearly detrimental to society, it reduces lifespan by up to 50%, and should be criminal: they should be forced to keep it hidden.

I just wonder if he included any homoerotic swim suit pictures of himself in the package with his signature? Was it really his signature or that of his teleprompter?

Since before the election, I have been predicting that Obama would turn to treaties, United Nations declarations, and even Executive Agreements to make an end run around the method of passing laws in America prescribed in our Constitution.

Yes but in some countries they have NO homosexuals. Just ask Irans president. He says there is no homosexuality in Iran at all.
So see it can be stopped.

Ok, maybe not.

I don’t want my government pretending that homosexuality is normal, so this will only make it worse.

You're spot on with this. Zero will use every trick in the book to reward his loyal minions. The U.N. will play a big role in the false messiah’s plans to punish America for its perceived transgressions. This guy can't help himself. He's like a daily train wreck. By the end of the year even the MSM will be asking questions that the teleprompter can't answer.

I’m guessing that some of the biggest opponents to this are the Muslim countries. So I’d say sign it for that reason alone.

Who cares what the UN-nations declares? What a worthless waste of money that liberal marxist congregation is. Any declaration will be non-binding on member nations; not worth the paper it's written on.

For those on this board who poo-poo the criminalization of homosexuality, consider that decriminalization is always read by the homo-leftists as LICENSE to practice and foist their perversion unfettered on a society. The Lawrence v. Texas case opened the floodgates of homo-aggression on an entire nation, resulting in a rapid succession of horrendous political results unthinkable only ten years earlier.
