The last Census, WE refused to fill out all of the form sent to us as we both thought it quite intrusive.
Long story shorter that would involve me literally physically tossing a guy off our property, a woman drove onto our driveway, parked her car, and sat there leaning on the horn until I was compelled to find out what was going on outside the house.
WE live in an extremely rural area, so such an event as someone sitting in a car leaning on the horn is quite unusual to say the least.
I approached the car cautiously until I determined it was one of them. Yup, “One of them”. She rolled down her window, and she said “Mr RQSR I need to ask you some questions to finish filling out this form”. I walked back towards the house without saying anything to her, and she resumed leaning on the horn.
I should have let her wear down the battery, but as she was blocking my cars, and I couldn’t leave I went back out and told her that I would not answer any intrusive questions period, but try me. I answered a couple of her questions, and walked away again.
This time she departed. I guess the two questions I had answered believing them to be not all that intrusive were sufficient to cause some relief from the horn honking.
This coming Census I have a plan to simply position one of the cars to the North RV parking area, and drive out the other gate at the North side of the property to go visit with friends in town. The Census person can sit and lay on the horn until they wear down the battery for all I care.
How about if we just lie to the census takers on the invasive questions? If it is stuff only we know, how would they find out differently?

By George you’ve got it! Everyone should lie to the census taker. If the government wants to destroy the legitimacy of the program, let’s help them along. In Red States those asked should increase the number of inhabitants in a household. In Blue States reduce them.

That’s called “curbsiding.”
You have to know your census lingo. A “drive-by” is when you’re lazy, so you drive past a house and you say “yup, that’s probably a Caucasian couple, two kids, $50k a year, I bet he’s a plumber and she’s a housewife.” That’s illegal, but pretty respectable.
A “curbside” is when you go down to the Pit Stop Grill and sit there with a map of the route you’re supposed to be censusing, saying, “yeah, I bet that house is a duplex with a single Latino 36-year old army vet on the left, and some lesbians on the right.” That would be curbsiding.
