Ohio rules that let Mercedes-driving woman collect food stamps called 'offensive'

LEBANON, Ohio (AP) - A southwest Ohio county is threatening to ignore new food stamp rules because officials say relatively well off people are getting benefits.

Commissioners in Warren County near Cincinnati said Tuesday they want to go back to the old eligibility standards. They were angry after learning that a woman with $80,000 in the bank, a paid-off $311,000 home and a Mercedes qualified for $500 a month in food stamps after she lost her job.

The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services says a change made in October bases eligibility on income. Savings, stocks, cars or other assets are no longer taken into account.

Commissioner Dave Young calls the new rules "really offensive."

Some of the "OLD" rules were, too. An elderly lady we know lost her job and they would not give her food assistance because she had a checking account with $10 in it just to keep it open...............

These people are no different than the AIG executives. They are not breaking the law. The law is what is broken. To blame and get angry at the people who are doing what the law allows is playing the Obama game. Instead, we should blame the perverse and wasteful government that allows such things to occur.

My mother - who receives her SSI check and drives a Ford Focus - can’t qualify for food stamps. But the lady next door who gets section 8 and drives an Escalade can.

I worked as a food stamp/AFDC adjudicator for the state of Florida for about a year. I remember people parking their expensive cars way down the street and walking up to the food stamp office. But this is really only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the ways people come up with ways t work the system.

He who will not work will not eat.

If we took this as it is - God’s Word, our society would be a LOT better off.

Handouts to the slothful is damaging to the receiver, the taxpayer, and society in general.

Cut out all gov’t assistance altogether, put charity back where it belongs under religious institutions, and let people voluntarily give to the truly needy through these private institutions.

The first time I saw a woman use food stamps, she took her groceries out to her Mercedes where her chauffeur was waiting for her.

Ah but Bronco Bomber's policies are designed to accomplish the opposite of this

.. limit deductions for charitable contributrions
.. tax health benefits, thus making it less appealing for private enterprise to offer them

Shall I continue?

All designed to make Fedzilla the Santa Claus of the masses and increase its power.

well, yeah, he’s working to undermine everything that would be in line with God’s will,

and if you’re working against God, you’re working FOR Satan.

Easy to show that the left is, willingly or unwittingly, working for Satan with every policy.

It wouldn’t do any good going to the govt about it, but it sounds like a good idea for a website....
